Control pad up: Toggle first person view B button: Brake/Reverse  Modes Grand Prix - Just like previous Mario Karts, this is a frantic race for first place amongst eight racers. Choose between three speed classes, 50cc, 100cc and 150cc and play through the 8 different cups for a total of 32 different courses. Time Trials - Test your speed on any of the given track. Then challenge others to beat your best time by sharing your ghost data with them via StreetPass communication. Battle - There are two different battles in Mario Kart 7, Balloon Battle and Coin Runners. Balloon Battle has you each duke it out trying to pop each others balloons with every item in your arsenal. In Coin Runners, racers collect the Coins spread in the battle course within the time limit and the racer that has the most Coins at the end wins. VS - This mode lets you race with up to 8 players total, with a range of options to customize your match. Choose the number of races, teams, types of items allowed, and much more. Supports both multi-card and download play. Those that download can only play as Shy Guy however. Online Multiplayer - If you have wireless broadband Internet access, you can link up with other players of the world for online play. You can hold 2-8 player matches in VS., Balloon Battle, or Coin Runners modes with people on your Friend List, or opponents from around the globe. Streetpass - Head to the Mario Kart Channel in your game to access a ton of awesome StreetPass features. This is where you can share and view ghost data from racers you pass on the street, and even share your most recent Community data to recruit new members. At any time you'll see the 100 most recent players you've passed—and if they're online, you can challenge them to a race right on the spot. Spotpass - Turn on SpotPass communication for Mario Kart 7, and you can receive 20 new ghosts to race per day while the system is in Sleep Mode. Communities - Join a Community to play whenever you like with groups without having to add them to your friend list - or create your own Community and and have racers play by your rules. Custom rules like only certain items or weight classes.  Characters Mario - The older, more courageous Mario Bro. He's the Mushroom Kingdom's go-to guy if the princess is kidnapped. - Medium Luigi - The younger, cowardly Mario Bro. Since he cleaned that mansion full of ghosts, they've been out to get him. - Medium Peach - Princess and ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. She's been kidnapped by Bowser so many times you'd think there may be something going on between them. - Mid-Light Yoshi - Mario's trusty green donkey. Likes to sleep on the roof of Peach's Castle for some reason. - Mid-Light Bowser - King of the Koopas and Mario's arch-nemesis. Though Peach would never admit it, she and Bowser did get married once. - Heavy Donkey Kong - The great King of the Jungle and protector of the great banana horde of DK Island. Do not mess with his bananas, just ask K. Rool, Ghastly King and Tiki Tong why. - Mid-Heavy Toad - Royal retainer of the Mushroom Kingdom. Not to sound racist or anything, but he looks pretty much like all the other Toads... - Light Koopa Troopa - Loyal minion of King Bowser. Um... there's not much else to say about this guy... His shell is green I suppose - Light Unlockable Characters Daisy - Princess and ruler of Sarasaland. She like never get's kidnapped, so she's got a lot of free time to waste her money on luxury cruisers and fancy resorts. - Mid-Light Wario - The obese, yet surprisingly handsome, hot-tempered, greedy anti-hero. He really hates Mario for some reason. - Heavy Rosalina - The large and beautiful commander of the Comet Obsevatory. She watches over the night sky and takes care of all the Lumas - Mid-Heavy Shy Guy - Timid troublemaker who works for Kamek, or Wart, or Bowser. It's never really clear. - Light Metal Mario - Mario, but with the metal cap on. Seriously, that's the best they could come up with? - Heavy Lakitu - The brother or some relative to the Lakitu who works for the MKGP. See, he's got a red shell, so he's different! - Light Honey Queen - Ruler of the bees in space. Yeah her, not sure why she's so small in this game... - Heavy Wiggler - The extremely temperamental caterpillar. Were people really clamoring for him to be in this game? - Mid-Heavy Mii - You. LOL at the thread title. XD
Anyway, I'll skip my usual bitching about no single-player Versus and get HYPED about the new courses. I'm especially excited about Daisy Hills, Shy Guy Bazaar, Music Park (Melody Motorway outside the U.S.), Piranha Plant Slide (Piranha Plant Pipeway outside the U.S.), the new Bowser's Castle and new Rainbow Road (best RR EVER). Also looking forward to revisiting SNES Rainbow Road, playing as Wiggler (always wanted him in Mario Kart since he appeared in Mario Power Tennis), and seeing this game in 3D at 60fps. Will be glorious! |

Here's me doing the DK Jungle stage, with extended ending so you can hear the entire end music. Let me tell you, driving with the 3DS flat on a table in front of a camera is pretty difficult!
