That's probably neither a stupid question nor doesn't it deserve its own thread, actually.
What immediately comes to mind is that it hasn't worked so far. It's been tried a couple of times. Arguments against it are made on the basis of evidence found in data following such historic top tax rate reductions. |

Because the theory behind it is that rich people are gonna buy tons of cars, multiple houses, and hunreds of thousands of dollars of clothes and groceries. The reality is that rich people horde, save, invest, and/or hide their money.

Hopefully someone here is familiar with DCP (Digital Cinema Package) creation...
I was given a movie on Blu-ray that a client would like to be converted into a DCP for playback on a 4K projector. The problem I'm having is that the # of frames for the picture .MXF is 141,094 and the number of frames for my 5.1 audio .MXF is 21,984. My question would be, how in the world can I get the # of frames to match? They need to be equal in order to create the DCP. I'm using OpenDCP to make it. Trying to anyway :/ I've done it before with other files, some match and some don't. It's annoying and I have idea what the inconsistency between source files could be that would be giving me these discrepancies. |

I just read that Microsoft will be offering Windows 8 Upgrades for just $39.99. Since I own a Vista (32 bit, Business I think) one, will it allow me to update straight to 8? If so, will it go straight to 64-bit? Running the Vista OS on Parallels on Mac OS X so I wonder if that will have any issues either.

This? EDIT: I doubt it, since the views aren't high enough for a reddit post. |

Question for ComicsGAF: I recall that the Ultimates had a prisoner in a glass cage dressed as Spider-Man that they called "The Spider." Apparently he talked a security guard into attempting suicide in 4 words, so there was some sort of Hannibal Lecter thing going on.
What was the deal with that guy? Was he ever explained, or did he just get forgotten about? |

No and even those that do don't support all codecs/containers. Read the technical specifications first. Also if you don't mind spending some extra dough consider getting a small pc (ZBox maybe) with XBMC on it for playing video on your tv.
However as you might have guessed this means that your download-speed isn't the only factor contributing to the high ping but also your router, your upload-speed and the up/download-speed of your target. Thus it's hard to say how much influence upping your download-speed will have. Though 3Mbps is disgustingly slow (even 3G is able to top that in the right circumstances) so I would up it to 18Mbps atleast anyway. It might not improve the ping as much as you like, but it makes everything else better.

Thanks for the suggestion but I was just looking for a cheap TV to watch while I'm on a treadmill. I didn't much to spend much at all. I'm looking at a IncrediSonic media player that seems to be what I'm looking for.

Well your ping is not an absolute measurement. Instead it's measured according to the server you're connecting to. For example, if you're playing a game and you join a server based in Australia but you are in the United States, a 400ms ping would be pretty par for the course (maybe even low...). But if you're connecting to a server two states away from you in the US one would expect a <100ms ping.

Pudding is often used to mean the same as dessert ie 'What is for pudding?' but in my experience dessert is far far more commonly used. As far as I know we most commonly have pudding at Christmas, the rest of the year its not common bar maybe spotted dick.

my landlord put my name AND my old roommates name on the security deposit check we got back.
I didn't even know you could put two names on a check. Does this mean my old roommate also has to sign it also? My name is first on the check and I told them to make the check out to me. |

Can't make a thread unfortunately so hope people who have played the Splinter Cell games see this message. And those who have played the HD trilogy.
Are they as hard as I've seen people say? Also, Eurogamer said this in their review of the first: In an era of hints, waypoints and mini-maps, it's weirdly exciting to play a game that shoves you into a huge, intricate series of levels armed with almost no information to orient yourself. The genius of Splinter Cell, in fact, is how little it gives you to work with throughout the campaign. Is this the same in all of the games? And was the quick save function in the original games, or something in just the HD trilogy? Thanks. |

I actually tried a tablet and it just wasn't loud enough. I was able to get a CRT TV from my dad and set it up so that will work. Now I just need to find a low priced pair of speakers that sound good cranked all the way up.
