At this point waiting on video game bargains is a game in and of itself.
You're an absolute sucker if you pay full price for ANY game these days. Yes, that goes for launch as well. What an amazing time to be a gamer. |

Especially with games like Rage and Deus Ex hitting 1/4th and 1/6th their original prices within 4 months. Crazy.

Yep, it may not be on the steam key list but it does activate on steam. I bought it myself from Amazon earlier this year and redeemed the key on steam.

We should make this an Amazon mega thread with all current deals because they are just destroying the competition at the moment (Steam included).

Works for me I'll add the links to the OP and just continually update the post though if mods could help with changing the title when needed that would be awesome.

So far the best deals on Steam games have been outside of Steam.

Civ4 is tempting, but it's only $1 more on Steam, so I might just see if the series ends up being a daily deal.
And for that matter what Civ5 DLC is recommended? |

Isn't the deal on shogun better than what they had just a few days ago on amazon? Maybe it was the same and my memory sucks.

I do have a simple but dumb question, why is it that Amazon can sell Steamworks games for cheaper than Steam does? how is it Amazon can keep the prices lower?

Been wondering this myself. I presume they are losing money on many of these sales in an effort to gobble up some market share. |

Also for those that are curious this is how Amazon works. You buy your game, then download it from the "Your digital items" section. This is where you will find your key and if the game is Steam compatible you can add it to your Steam list.
Also if you choose to download from Amazon. You get a small file that acts as a downloader for your game. If you have a crappy connection (like me) or want to back up your game to disc to save bandwidth you can burn the files to a DVD/ Dual Layer DVD and have a hard copy. The other plus is having the freedom to install where you want without restrictions (not all games apply to this though).

This just need to end. If your a Steam purist then go away. These are deals for gamers and if you don't like something whine about it elsewhere or better yet keep it to yourself. Steam isn't the best thing since slice bread anymore. It is a good program but it shows that they are not the top dog anymore. Deals are deals and if you want to pay a higher price on Steam then by all means do so but don't bring down a good deal since it isn't compatible with your all mighty Steam.
