I thought the North Pole special was actually pretty amazing. T'was the first Top Gear broadcast in HD too if I remember correctly. Also, Andy Wilman responds to criticism.

Well if they recognise it's shit at least there's hope of them changing things and getting to be a decent show again.
Sounds like they were stupidly restricted. With that said, not knowing how the public will react to scripting sounds like bollocks to me. It's been the biggest complaint of the show for years from most people. |

India offended by TG special: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-16526687
I thought the bad scripting/acting/editing/jokes were more offensive, personally! |

Good to see I wasn't alone in finding the special wanting. The garden party was flat, the entire "excuse" to go to India was flimsy at best, the train signs were alright, and I typically usually don't like the body modifications in the first place, but christ was it pointless this time.
Though I did like the using the exhaust as can launchers. I want to point out again how terrible the garden party set was. |

Nothing holds a candle to the Bolivia special. Got me fully hooked on the show.
India was overly scripted, boring, and had little to do with cars, much less the cars they brought and modified. Still looking forward to the new series though. I have a Top Gear shaped hole in my universe right now, and Forza 4 only goes so far ;P

The Polar Special had a lot of heart to it. Who the hell takes a pickup truck to the pole? You have to give Hammond credit for braving through the whole thing with team dog.
Vietnam special is my personal favorite even though it's not about cars. It seemed like they really had a lot of fun doing that special, except for Clarkson for the first half of it. He came around and learned to love his piece of shit Vespa. |

That and Vietnam is as good as television gets. My favorite show has been on a gradual slide for a while and I don't really understand why they can't turn it around.
There are some magazines/shows online that have more entertaining and better car reviews than Top Gear at the moment, that used to never be the case! Meanwhile Jeremy is walking around with no pants on... |

The episode where they enter their second hand 3-series diesel in a 24 hour race, so great. |

You guys are crazy. Did I watch the same trailer? I mean, it got planes and gliders and even some cars with old silly people driving them and stuff EXPLODED! What else do you want from a car show?
