It was a decent episode - but yeah, Chinese stig was too much by the end. I laughed when he burst through the door, and then struggled to get in the car.....but they should have left it at that.
I actually didn't like MLB - dunno why, but he just seemed plain boring. |

Yeah, I'm shocked at how great that episode was too. It was genuinely funny. And it had two main focals, as opposed to one that goes on throughout the episode. This season has been ace so far, this season.
And Matt LeBlanc is fucking awesome. Glad he schooled that track placed 1st. |

Imola-TopGear: One of the better episodes. Driving hardcore sportscars hard on track, it never gets old. More of this please.
MLB-TopGear: He looked very off the pace, everywhere besides the track. Old as someone said. SLS segment good. China, mixed. High brow and low brow. |

I never had any interest in Nascar until I played some of the events in GT5, and now I've got a whole new respect for it. Good to see Top Gear (and of course its Hammond) showing it some love.
My only gripe about the the episode is that the montage didn't fade out. You have to fade out with a montage man! |

This episode was okay, still don't care much for NASCAR. GT5 made me hate it even more. MLB was kinda boring and the China part was, eh, meh? The Stig was over the top, but whatever. Testing the Chinese cars and coming to the conclusion that they will be much better in 5 years, because China is so rapidly evolving, was like, I don't know, a "no shit, Sherlock" moment.
Despite the negativity in my comment, I like that the current Top Gear season is a bit more like a car show again. Don't worry, the superior Top Gear US will launch at the end of the month. |

Yeah, a friend got tickets from his GF so am contemplating wether to go or not... Basically JC blasting fireworks and cars doing doughnuts and flames n` stuff. Either way fun to watch but I get the feeling it`s meant to be consumed by the lowest common denominator

I would like NASCAR for the things Hammond talked about: lack of technology, closed cars with bumpers and contact, lots of passing, not being so damned European Sports Bureaucratic about every damn thing, smart cheating.
However, in the end, its still a sport that mostly has to do with turning left. |

The first season was alright at best, but the second was really good. |

I'd say start with season 2's premiere . There are some good episodes in the first season, but I think they started to hit their stride a little late in season 1 but kept it going for season 2.

Yeah, that's a good start. If you watch one episode from season 1, I would watch episode 9, which was the Alaska truck challenge. That was the episode that made me think this show really had promise. That's when they really started to get to know each other, which is key for learning how to make fun of each other.

First two or three episodes are really weak, then it starts to get going. Definitely stick with it a little longer. Biggest improvement is from Season 1 > Season 2 though imo. Season 2 is excellent.

Top Gear US is a okay. I like how they constantly do challenges, as they are by far the most popular part about Top Gear in general. However, the chemistry between the hosts isn't that appealing and it doesn't have that "3 friends dicking about" feeling like TG UK, more like 3 TV-personalities smile for the camera and laugh on cue - That's the killer.
