Final Fantasy XIII: "First off, the story was excellent. It was truly good enough to be a movie."

So what games have made you cry? Have you ever cried while playing a video game? I think I cried manly tears of frustration playing a Megaman game once, but nothing provoked by emotional interest in the game...

MOTHER 3 and Final Fantasy VI are the games that made me cry.

Steins;Gate was originally a visual novel. Like Clannad.

I'm amazed that Crisis Core, Okami, and Metal Gear Solid 3 made the top 5 over some of the other games.

I laughed till I cried.

It's been awhile since I played Okami, but that game was pretty positive and light-hearted all around. Don't quite understand why it'd make this list, but maybe being influenced by Japanese fairy-tales means that it resonates better in Japan?

I legit cried (or got to the verge of tears) at the ending of Final Fantasy X. (Well, until they f'd it up post-credits.) But to be fair, I'm a total wimp for dramas that purposely tug on heartstrings like that.

There's the part

where Otacon said 'Snake...had a hard life'

in MGS4. As for FFXIII (i don't hate the game honestly), i really can't think of a reason why it's in the list. Trolling attempt? Or is there a tear-jerking moment i've completely forgotten?

Anyway apart from the weird inclusion of XIII, that's a nice list. Definitely agree with FFX/VIII/CC,MGS3/4,ICO,SotC and Nier.

Also good to see Type-0 in the Top 10, can't wait for it to come over

Mother 3 is pretty damn sad, I never thought the followup to the pretty cheerful Mother 2 would be so gloomy and depressing... And I only just finished chapter 1 >.>

Okami has some pretty sad moment, but I didn't think it would chart that high.
