I think my issue is my hands are in a position to be able to use the L and R buttons (needed to turn quickly) along with all the other buttons. I haven't had to hold the 3DS like this for any other game. Perhaps I'm holding the system wrong and should try another way? Ignore the R and L buttons so my hands are holding more of the lower part of the system? So my thumbs are point up to the circle pad and buttons (how I normally hold the system) instead of being more horizontal which is how they are when I'm holding it so I can press the L and R buttons easier.
Will see how that goes today before I make up my mind. Maybe a grip would help.

Hope your change of grip helps but if not then I heartily recommend a grip for a longer session. |

So far so good. Changing the placement of my hands and ignoring the L and R (not sure if this will screw me over in the end) for the most part has made things better. Guess I'll hold off for a few days and see how things continue.
Is the 3D just not that good in this game? Doesn't really pop like some other games. |

The UK box art spines are so boring compared to in other regions. I own 8 games and only 3 of them have anything other than plain grey text.

Might import Code of Princess and Hatsune Miku later on if the former doesn't get a western release down the line. My imports are Theatrhythm, Senran Kagura, Virus Shooter XX, and Gundam The 3D Battle Apparently Dynasty Warriors VS is Japan only, sad for the fans :/

I'm looking for another fighter for my 3DS. I've seen reviews of Dead or Alive Dimensions, Tekken 3D Prime Edition and BlazBlue, but I was wondering what the 3DSGAF thinks, any suggestions? Most of them are pretty cheap now in Canada.
I already have SSFIV3D Edition. I'm starting to get into fighters more this generation - having played SFIV, Tatsunoko vs Capcom and MvC3. But, those are all pretty similar and come from the same company. Any suggestions!? |

Dead or Alive and Tekken are both 3D fighters which i'm not really into. If you are though Tekken is pretty barebones although serviceable and i've heard nothing but good things about DoA.
BlazBlue is decent but it's probably the worst port of the game available on the market and it doesn't have online. Does have a massive amount of singleplayer content though. |

Ended up returning Star Fox after all. While it did control better after the change I just wasn't enjoying the game all that much after running through it twice. Guess it will be a while before my next purchase (Heroes of Ruin). Not really sure about Mario Tennis and kinda relucant to pick up anymore older games. Had my reasons for passing on them before even if I can't remember them now.

I *might* be tempted to buy an american 3DS for cheap if there isn't any solution to play imported games, but I don't really like this solution.
Anyways, I recently bought Ghost Recon and Ace Combat : Ghost Recon : at first I was a little disappointed. I was expecting a game like Advance Wars, with large maps and units and everything, and then I understood that it wasn't AW, but more like Pathway to Glory, where you control your squad with unique units, each one of them have its abilities. And it's awesome, I recommend it. Ace Combat : I love Ace Combat. I played AC3 on PSX countless times. But I really wish the game was compatible with the CCPro, the maniability is kind of weird in the normal setting. I have only beat the first mission, and the music was ridiculously epic, what's up with that ? Next, I wonder if I should buy Tales of the Abyss (which I already played A LOT) and Kid Icarus for summer. |

I am intrigued why you have two copies of KI and both Revelaitons and Revelations though! Not until you posted that, no. Good cover though. It has me intrigued so it has done its job.

How's Rayman 3D? I've yet to play it (only time I played it was on the DS and the bad framerate killed it for me) and don't have a Dreamcast or whatever to play it on (assuming that's the best version of the game). Would you say it's worth it for $20? or should I save my money?

Haven't played it yet, but intend to pick it up when I'm done with Crush 3D. It may drop from $30 by then.

So i've had this for almost two months and thought i might break down some of the games and things for anyone else that might still be fence sitting on getting a system or games.
Get the Devil Summoner games, just do it. Overclocked is still available for $30 from Amazon and the DS sequel as well. I cannot stress how much I feel these are must owns for this system. The 3D is super super weak on Overclocked for what I can make out but it absolutely does not matter. Kid Icarus is beautiful and the music is great but seriously the controls are clunky no matter how much anyone wants to argue otherwise. "Learning curves of 4-8 hours" and it including a stand should be enough evidence to that. I just have a real problem with clunky controls and it sucks the fun right out of games for me. I'm keeping it, will try to get back into it later but theres more interesting games coming up for me. Clunky controls is what kept me from buying RE:Revelations too. If you are a big fan of either series and don't mind clunky controls then by all means have fun, for me theres other games i would rather be spending my time on not fighting controls and forcing myself to have fun. Super Mario Land - great game even without the 3D on, you probably already bought this with Zelda though so what can I say. DS game backwards compatibility. I may be able to help some fence sitters in regards to this debate. I was highly dubious of both sides on this debate and there just wasn't enough evidence I could find to see for myself. If you are questioning investing in a 3DS with the hopes of playing DS games or wanting to buy DS games stop worrying, they are just fine. My problem was the gulf in the debate was so wide and ranged from "DS games look like total ass! to DS games are beautiful and look better on 3DS" i mean, obviously someone is lying or just delusional. DS games certainly don't look better on a 3DS, theres no upscaling or bonus settings like playing PSP games on a Vita. They really look about the same to me as on a DS to me, no better no less. And that is just fine, i'm already starting to build a library of DS games i missed like the DQ games, Devil Summoner 2, 999 and Radiant Historia. Tales of the Abyss- gotta say this is my regret purchase. i think I got it more on knee jerk because it looked like it was going to go out of print. I may hold into it just to see if it does go out of print and I can get a better TiV. I mean, it is just ok, just very boring. And holy crap I hate the main character. The dude is so whiny and has major issues with torturing small cute animals. Even the party says so after awhile and shows concern in that "hehehehe..dude thats a little disturbing maybe you should stop" way. The only way I would get on board with him is if I knew he was going to become the actual bad guy in the end. That could be a twist or novelty i might play to see. Maybe its just these Jrpg tropes that are starting to wear on me. Whiny punk kid whining about being stuck in a castle with servants protected. Finally is broken out and gets thrown into an adventure starts whining about not wanting any of this and wanting to go home blah blah. I would love to play a game where in the middle your best friend in your party or new friend, whatever, just turns to you and yells at your character. "For crying out loud STFU!! All you do is whine! Look, in the end you are going to save the world, be treated like a hero, be made king and get the girl. And somewhere along the way i'm probably going to become deadmeat saving your whiny ass and then giving you a reason to go on. If you don't shut up though maybe, just maybe I will let you die and save the world myself. And lay off the damn potions. You don't need one every time you lose 5HP you big baby." Anyways, those are my thoughts as a newish owner on some current games and the system for any fence sitters. Just waiting on KH3D and Theaterhythm FF now.

Having a hard time deciding between Tekken 3D Prime Edition or Dead or Alive Dimensions.
Not sure what to pick, seems like DoA is the better choice. |

I like the 3DS, but it surely is one of the least comfortable handhelds I've ever used. Good thing I have that Hori Wheel.
I really want to purchase Starfox except the non-wifi is putting me off. Hopefully a price drop happens this year. |

Oh I don't. That's the box Kid Icarus came in (do to the stand) and the case itself. Also with Revelations one if the case with the correct inserted cover and the other is the misspelled cover that originally came with the case. I just put them on the shelf instead of throwing away the box and misspelled cover.

I didn't even know that was out, but I can see Amazon sells it(import). Is it supposed to come to the west?
The PC version was pretty good and as long as this has extra levels, I'll get it when it's available.

Just came back and picked up the last copy of Radiant Historia. Good thing I went.
Maybe I'm late but I noticed on Gamestop, Devil Survivor Overclocked dropped in price. $29.99 new/$24.99 used. I was tempted to pick it up but decided to wait. Can't wait TOO long though since this is Atlus we're talking about lol. Definitely will be a future purchase. Went to Best Buy and saw they had a demo of Mario Tennis Open. Looks pretty good. Needed some help deciding if it was worth a purchase and I think now that I've played a little of it, I can see myself getting it. Biggest reason I'll be getting it is for online. I can see myself putting time into that mini game, Super Mario Tennis. That was a nice surprise. It took me some time to get into Mario Kart 7. I thought I was over and done with the whole series and felt bored with it. Came close to trading it in but after playing many online matches, it's pretty damn fun. Trying to get your VR up is addicting but will take a long time. Still need a ton of things to unlock. I'm hoping Mario Tennis Open will be just as addicting. "There is a monthly leaderboard that tracks your ranking, and you get medals for every opponent you defeat." That quote from this review: http://blastmagazine.com/the-magazin...-blast-review/ makes me happy since I love leaderboards. Just a few more days... |

I find the vita much more uncomfortable. I have smaller hands so the 3DS feels just fine. Vita is just too bulky and I can't stand those shoulder buttons.
