No? Why would I care about a few cents or a dollar? The fees are so nominal compared to the security both the buyer and seller get from using an invoice.

On my end it makes it easier to keep track of everything sold and to whom it's been sold to, on the buyers end it gives them the security to know that I'm dealing with them legitimately and am not going to screw them.

Anything that can be done with very minimal cost to make the buying/selling experience better for both parties is fine in my books, but then again, I'm customer service oriented and want others to be happy with their transactions as I'd hope people would want when selling to me.

Negative Feedback for Yuripaw. He offered me the Metroid Prime Trilogy on March 18th and I paid him on March 19th. I receive a pm on March 24 that said he mailed the game the day before. I waited a few weeks and the package never came. Once I pm-ed him about it and asked him for a tracking number he didn't put insurance or any other type of tracking on the package. This happened on a $65 transaction for a game. It doesn't cost much at all to place insurance or tracking on a game. Anyway, I waited a few more weeks just in case the package trickled in late and still it didn't show. So, once I brought this up to him and wanted to come to a resolution he tried to sell me a sob story and only offered me half of the money I that I paid him. I brushed off his request and told him to forget about the whole thing because I was sick of dealing with him. I understand that this seller is Neogaf plus (I think) but when things go wrong he is not very good at handling business. Sorry for the long post.

This is why I never use PayPal gift. I'm Gaf Plus and I invoice people through PayPal for anything I sell.

As a buyer I can understand why you would use paypal invoice or whatever, as a seller if you are not deviating from your description or being shady, I do not see a problem with it. I normally give people the option. Whether they want to pay the fees or not.

Believe me, I've been in those footsteps but you gotta keep your word especially when it comes to selling items. People rely on you to ship those items out since they paid for those items.

I've been buying and selling online for about 12-13 years now (mostly anandtech/cag) and I've seen a few case of people with tons of good feedback just decide to turn rogue one day. Maybe they hit a rough patch and need some money who knows.
Either way - paypal gift is a bad idea, insist on delivery confirmation at the minimum for any medium/large orders, and if it seems too good to be true..well you know.

In the end, even though he said he wasn't going to, he's within his rights to leave negative feedback. He's out $65, and the onus is always on the seller to make sure the merchandise arrives. Delivery confirmation is cheap (or free.)

Yeah you really have to be careful with it. A few weeks ago I sold a game and put postage on it and when I came home that day my grandpa found the game in the mailbox without the bubble mailer I sent it in, I got lucky I guess. It's a good idea to have tracking but I have yet to have any issues.

An extra little tidbit to everyone, you don't even need to go priority with paypal shipping to get the delivery confirmation. You get it with 1st class as well.

I don't know if it's really "free" though because it's actually 18 cents, but it's basically subsumed into the total shipping cost. But it's so damn cheap where I never ship without delivery confirmation even if I'm only selling something for $5, unless you live in the United State's hat where DC is not offered.

This. Ultimately at the end of the day the onus is on the seller. As the seller even if you have reason to believe that the buyer is lying about receiving the item, if you can't prove it got there you don't have a leg to stand on either, and as the shipper that was your choice to get tracking/delivery confirmation/whatever. If it's a relatively low-value item (so insurance was not purchased) and it arrives damaged or something like that, that would be what I would consider a possible partial refund scenario. My general rule of thumb is I'll do at least tracking on anything over $40/50, and if it's less than that and I don't get tracking for whatever reason I'll at least keep the post office receipt which will confirm on that date I sent a package weighing X amount to that person's ZIP code.
