Its hard to watch just because the pitchers in softball are way too dominate. You get a tall, lanky girl that whirl her arm, and she is halfway to the plate before she release the ball. One of our elites, Cat Osterman, had 5 no hitters and 3 perfect games her senior season.

Want to feel morally superior and disgusted by Europeans at the same time?
Watch Stadiums of Hate from the BBC: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dNgoWki0kXI Christ, Europe, figure out proper trolling, and quit making me depressed. Also, learn history. Poles and Ukrainians doing the Nazi salute is one of the most confusing things I have ever seen. |

Racism in America is kind of an undercurrent that occasionally rears its ugly head. Doesn't help that many European countries' identities are tied up with their predominant ethnicities. |

Quote:
--- Do I think the SEC has its hand up the BCS's ass, as well as too much power in the playoff discussions? Yes, but having a champ for the last 6 years kind of validates that advantage. Do I think that scheduling cupcakes is lame? Yes, but the polls/bowl system rewards that over taking risks, so you can't really blame folks for wanting to preserve their season. Do I think that you "don't have to be good" in the SEC? Hell no. Of course, I do believe there is the issue of less effective offenses versus stacked D...but as we've seen with Ohio State and Oregon in MNCs past, it's not just luck. Plus, you compared the SEC to the WWE, which is a pretty sad assessment. Let's not pretend like Oklahoma State had the title game in their hands before they lost to Iowa State, not unlike the shot we could have had that was spoiled by Rutgers way back. Nobody wanted to see LSU & Alabama II for the championship...next thing we know, the "less deserving team" completely shuts the presumed champs out. If the upcoming playoff system gives us two SEC entrants, so be it. There will still be two non-SEC participants that can knock them out.

Why the scare quotes? Alabama was the less deserving team. Them winning the Turd of the Century II doesn't somehow retroactively make them deserving.

I think the really shitty field helped out Auburn in that game just as much as their defense.

It had 3 goal line stands - 2 Auburn/1 Oregon Two amazingly executed fakes. A few 2 point conversions. 85 yard goal line bomb. Game tied with 2 minutes left. I had a drunken meltdown Cam Newton got beat up and outplayed by Darron Thomas. Timeless (and shitty!) winning Dyer play Crazy to think Oregon outscored Auburn 8-3 in the 2nd half until the winning FG. It was one of those HUGE play games where scoring was difficult. |

I thought that game was the glaring example of why teams shouldn't be given a month off before the title game. Both teams looked great all season and both looked pretty awful in that game.

I'm guessing that it's because his team was in the game, and didn't get blown out.
I thought it was a decent MNC game. At least you got the sense that UO had a chance at winning, unlike Ohio State vs any SEC team. And much better than GAME OF THE CENTURY p2 this year.

Weird part is Oregon only had 1 player drafted from that team (5th round Casey Matthews). Thought this lends to the idea Oregon had a better team but talent won out (and it usually does). Oh and of course I'm biased but I said the game was good, not great. It's made better by being surrounded by relative turds. |

Auburn that year, really wasn't very good, but key players and that offensive system of "just do it fast, with lots of misdirection" won them games. Their defense was horrid, but having Fairley pistol whipping everyone, made them better. Their offense was Cam. He made their RB's better than they were (Dyer's solid, but McCalleb the little guy, can only run jet sweeps. That's all he does), and they have no WR's. Cam, Fairley, and a senior loaded offensive line was enough to win them 14 games. |

They had a ridiculous amount of Seniors on that team and you're right - they weren't that great aside from a few individuals. I think the way their season went (close games, comebacks) made them better. They lose that Clemson game (which they should have), I think it's conceivable they lose 3-4 games. |

They did that shit all season long. If I think about the Iron Bowl that year for too long, my head hurts. One Arm Mark Barron, giving it all he's got!!!!!11111.....for an Auburn Touchdown... |

And that ridiculous fumble was one of the biggest game turning points in recent memory as well.

I didn't bring up the Iron Bowl out of courtesy... :( I remember saying when Ingram (?) fumbled into the endzone for a touchback - that it literally opened the game back up. He scores there the game = over. PS is Nick Saban your pawn in Dragon's Dogma? He's been my party's tank mainstay. |

Sounds like the SEC decided on the 6-1-1 model of conference games. Everyone has a permanent cross division rival (everyone's the same, except ARKY/USCe is split up, so now it's ARKY/MIZZ and USCe/A&M). Really thought they'd just make A&M/MIZZ rivals, to play up their secessionist connection.
LSU Fans r mad. the "-1" part at the end, is rotating every year, so no more home and home games against cross-division foes. They'll get a new one every year. So it'd be something like this for Alabama: 2012: @ Mizz 2013: Vandy 2014: @ Kentucky 2015: Georgia 2016: @ USCe 2017: Florida 2018: Mizz 2019: @Vandy 2020: Kentucky 2021: @ Georgia 2022: USCe 2023: @ Florida 2024: @ Mizz At least that's how it sounds like it's going to be. Also:Penn State gets more Matt McGloin!!! http://espn.go.com/college-football/...arting-qb-fall OH geez, forgot about the miss offsides call. I remember that being another part of the conspiracy of that game....blood pressure rising!

They also could just cram those bowls to be played on the same days as the "pre-January" larger bowl games. Which would be nice. Football games on all the time! |

But the rival games coexist, you play everyone home and home often enough to remember the previous games, lots of new and exciting "divisions" each year, and as the Big XII, ACC, Big East, and B1G have shown us, geographical-related divisions are a thing of the past!
