Ahh that is still good. I guess the budget would be too high for 13. The show has really seemed to catch it's footing since coming on cable from NBC. Judging by the preview it hasn't missed a beat.

Show's still as good as ever. After watching so many "normally" filmed series throughout the year, I always forget just how "raw" Southland feels.

That's based on an actual police video... but it broke the suspension of disbelief a bit though... because iirc the female cop who got overpowered irl was beaten to death. :(

Damn this episode was a great return. Despise Lou Diamond Phillips after sgu, so was angry at his appearance and his character but that ending was redeeming and real good. Loved the guy in the chase getting hit by the truck too, my favorite tv trope always laugh when its used.

The police are so apathetic and jaded that Sherman sticks out like a sore thumb. This show would be fucking raw if it was on HBO, but still it manages to maintain it's edge on TNT. This premiere came out guns blazing.

Brilliant first episode, although I didn't care much for Lydia's storyline. Damn, that clip of Lucy Lui's character at the end was uncomfortable to watch. Also, I love Dewey. Glad he's still around.

Saw them filimg this morning on my way to work. On Main St near Mission (in the general area of County/USC Hospital).

There were cop cars in a small lot, lights flashing, with a bunch of people lined up as if the scene was the exterior of a night club or bar. Regina King was in a suit and they were actually filming as she was in full on speech and motioning and gesturing with her hands as she spoke.

I was so close, I actually thought of honking my horn to fuck with them, but I like Regina King so I didn't ruin the scene. I actually also just watched an episode last night in which the older white cop watched some footage of Lucy Liu getting the shit beat out of her by a gaint.

It's also the only reason I knew what was being filmed... her looking like a detective and all the cop cars and cameras.
