Since nobody mentioned it I'll mention Blue Sonnet (short collage mix) form 2197 then. Its not particularly good as from what I can gather the whole CD was rather experimental for all the composers involved (may be wrong on this).

One of my favorite composers. He did good work for Armodyne but it wasn't as inspired as Xenogears/Chrono. Also, he composed a couple of magnificent tracks for Shadow Hearts.
Amongst Mitsuda's works I've listened to - - Chrono Trigger - Chrono Trigger acid jazz - Brink of Time - Radical Dreamers - Chrono Cross - Xenogears - Xenogears Creid - Xenosaga I - Armodyne - Kirite Most emotional is Xenogears Most musical is Chrono Cross Most rich is Xenogears Creid Any one of you who hasn't heard Creid yet MUST hear it. I'd say it's his #1 work. |

People Seized With Life excellent choice. When i first heard this in game I actually stopped attacking just to soak in the amazing emotional song. Happy birthday Mitsuda! He is my favorite game composer. |

Youtube comments are typically terrible, but this one made me laugh
"When I'm old ill tell my grand children of the greatness of squaresoft, and they will probably reply "you mean square enix grandpa" and I'd kindly tell them to shut the fuck up cause I'm telling a story about greatness not mediocrity." And then I cried :( Frog's theme on piano and violin: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mZzOhp5fYGA |

Happy Birthday Mitsuda!
So many great songs composed by this man, I just wish he would do more new stuff. I miss being excited for some newly announced Mitsuda soundtrack. Here are some less-known Mitsuda stuff that I really enjoy. Sailing to the World The Door Reincarnation (Not sure why Mitsuda isn't credited in the YT-description, pretty sure he composed this like everything else on the album) Melody of Aqua I suggest you guys listen through that whole album, very relaxing. |

So it tickles me when people unknowingly post a bootleg's cover like that. ^_- |

Chrono Cross was the first soundtrack I ever imported (I think I was 11 or 12?). I saved up several allowances and bought the sucker because I loved the OST so much. :3
I remember when I bought an Ever Anime CD when I was younger. The packaging is so strange (read: cheap)... It was this, actually. I felt silly when I realized it was a bootleg years later. |

Strange Presentiment Motif from Girl Who Stole the Stars Epilogue (probably my favorite track, also has the motif from Time's Scar / Dream of the Shore) Ending |

The Xenogears and CT OSTs were the first I ever bought. I had to mail order them out of the back of a magazine back in the 90s. Good stuff. I always really liked the music in the first Xenosaga, too.
My favs would probably be Dazil, Grahf, Sea & Fire, and the Miracle. Couldn't disagree more about the weak battle themes comment. |

i'm aware of that. i'm happy if he can find work at some smaller publisher and compose kick ass soundtracks for more niche games, like yuzo koshiro. doesn't have to be rpg stuff.

Yasunori is my God.
So many great titles that it's hard to list here! For me, first one is Xenogears. All versions! OST, Creid, Myth, arranged and remixes. I must have them all!!! And for music... sooo many! But first is Balto for sure!! *_* Actually, any version of Bonds of Sea and Fire is totally awesome! And album.... Creid omg! *O* Knowing how much the album means to Mitsuda makes me even happier about it! And then, Chrono Cross. Then Chrono Trigger. The Zeal theme gives me the chills! I love getting up there just to listen to it! And the gorgeous danimal cannon remix, oooh my god! *O* And Kirite! Amazing! I'm usually listening music at work. And mostly it's Mitsuda related! *w* Happy birthday Mitsuda!! Let us have many years of wonderful music to come! o/ |

Glad to see Tsugunai in here. One of the more lesser known Mitsuda games. Not sure if this has been posted, but here is some good music from Graffiti Kingdom, probably an even lesser known title! It's difficult to find music on Youtube for this game. =/

Creid is my ultimate favorite. But I love Myth too! Mitsuda gave us different interpretations of the same melodies and I'm glad there are those who prefer one or another! :) |

For some reason, Youtube didn't want to start playing that vid, but I did notice your Zelda/Nier remix in the suggestions and clicked on that. Now, I'm always a bit skeptical about these kinds of things, since most of the time they sound like shit. But I've got to say, I really liked your Ancient Dreams arrangement. It combines two songs, both of which are my favorites from the games they are from, really well. It's awesome. :)

So I'm guessing he was 19-early 20s when he composed Chrono Trigger.
Awesome achievement. |

I remember back in the C64 and Amiga days, there were tons of amateur composers who would put out some amazing chiptunes as part of the 'demo scene' - they couldn't possibly have been out of their teens at the time. Wonder if any of them went on to become successful professionals in the vein of Mr. Mitsuda?
