Valkyria Chronicles is the best game I've ever disliked. It's so obviously high-quality and polished, but I just couldn't stick with it. A really good example of the fact that some types of games are just not for everyone.

I know that feeling , it's how I feel about Halo and Forza. Good quality games but just can't get into them. Gears of war 3 was also a really great game that I just was left feeling highly indifferent about. I would say I dislike these though , just highly indifferent after experiencing them.

I guess I wouldn't say I actually dislike VC either- it's just not for me. Usually when I think a game isn't for me, there are a lot of flaws I can point to as to why. But Valkyria Chronicles is clearly incredible.

Of the others mentioned:
Ratchet/Clank: haven't played any, but almost positive I'd love them
Halo: Quite "for me." Especially ODST (I love open-world anything, just about). Good example of a game which would have the opposite effect- even with massive flaws, I'd still play the crap out of it because it's so much to my personal tastes.
Forza: Same as you; obviously incredible quality but I can't get into it.
Gears of War 3: Just about to start this. Enjoyed but was sort of indifferent about the 1st and skipped 2.

Eh; it was that basic premise (not wanting to miss out) that had me plonk down $30 for VC. I ended up selling it for $18. So essentially I paid a $12 "find out that certain games just aren't for you" fee.

I know plenty of people who can't stand to get into some of the games I've spent the most time in. There are too many great games out there to experience every one! It all balances out.

For me this gen has been a learning moment in regards to this , I tried things I honestly would never even be bothered with due to it getting acclaim and in some cases it was great ( radiant history, rhythm heaven, Valkyria chronicles ) and in other cases I ended up with a game I'm not really interested in ( gran turismo 5, metal gear solid 4 ). The thing is the first three are definitively in genres I knew I liked, while the latter ones were in genres I definitively had no real interest in. So what I'm trying say is that if you know your tastes, missing out on supposed best games ever doesn't matter.

I went to summer school every year from 8th grade till I graduated HS. I failed a few classes in college too. It's really unfortunate I was so unmotivated back than, not much I can do about it now though.

On an even lower note, I just had an absolutely horrible attack. After all the "it's not so bad" posts, shit got real. I tried calling for help but I couldn't breathe or move to get my pills :[ shit was scary. The only thing that made it better was...crying. Yes, I actually cried..manly tears of course. From now on I will carry my pills and phone in my pocket, lesson learned!

This oxycodone makes me feel real good, I feel like I could tell you guys anything right now. I'm so happy :] I see why people are selling this 10 bucks a pill on the street

No, I'm recovering from surgery. I had a bunch of air pumped into my stomach/intestines so they could do the operation. I guess a giant air bubble got up in my chest as I couldn't really breathe. It was excruciating, lasted about an hour. Not as bad as my 2 severe gallbladder attacks, which lasted about 30 hours [yes, 30]. Different feeling though. The gallbladder attacks felt like the inside of my chest was being squeezed very tight, like how I'd imagine a heart attack would feel. This one felt like something was about to burst out of my chest, like the face-huger in Alien

On the plus side, the bandages are starting to peel off which means I can shower soon. Haven't showered since Monday.

Surgery Times AM surgery starts at 8.30am. Patients must arrive before 10.30am if they wish to be seen in the morning. PM surgery by appointments only.

means that if you turn up in the morning you don't need an appointment. 'cause that's how I'm reading it. Anyone else? 'cause I'm going in for the whole ADD thing at some point, but I don't like using phones if I don't have to >_>

Though at the same time, appointment might be better 'cause then I might not have to wait around in the reception for ages with a load of ill people. With possible chance of vomitty people. I hate vomit :C
