Yeah, it's so great! That Jubi/Wolvie team up mini right after she got transformed, where they get lost in that weird junkyard dimension and had to fight a dragon... I'm like "wtf yo?"

Yeah, it was hilarious and super dumb but I liked that aside from the bits where she was being emo and closed off, it showed that she can still be Jubilee even after a horrifically stupid development like getting turned into a vampire. The reason why I'm so pro-vamp is because it's literally one of the worst ideas in the history of comics but I keep seeing minor glimpses of fun being had with it. That recent issue of X-23 where her and X went out clubbing and then fucked up that pimp... That shit was my fucking jam! I've turned any hostility I could harbor towards a stupid decision into a DGAF attitude that makes me look forward to even the most minor pleasures.

Yeah, I get that feeling about WATXM, too. Its wonderful at world building and characterization, but it still hasn't formed much of a plot yet. Last issue threw out a lot of ideas for future issues with the casino and alien invaders, so hopefully we get some semblance of a story moving forward

Would it really be that bad if it mellowed out and focused on the goings on of the school? Between the attack, Angel and Genesis joining the book and now this amazing nonsense with Kitty there is plenty of stuff going on that fits the crisis of the month mold but my favorite scene are still all the class room stuff. There are a dozen+ X-books on the shelf right now and they're all telling the same kind of stories arc after arc.
I wouldn't be worried about it being better when focusing on showing school life instead of moving an overarching plot forward because it already is. I'm worried that it won't get to do that for as long as I want it to. |

Joe the Barbarian is great, but mainly for the art more than Morrison's writing (which isn't bad, but man that art).

Didn't realize Kirkman and Moore were childhood friends. This would be my worst nightmare. |

Why drop GenHope? There's only a couple issues left to come, it's ending in April. |

Picked up just two books today - Batgirl and Secret Avengers 22.1, and the only reason I picked up SA was because there was nothing in the store that really interested me. I really enjoyed SA, a lot more than I thought I would. Do you guys think it's worth jumping into the series, or should I just wait for Avengers Assemble which is starting up in a few months? The only characters in that roster that I know are Hawkeye and Ant-Man, everyone else on the cover looks weird/out of place.

I never mention X-Factor here, but its been the most consistently "good" book on my pulllist...pretty much since its inception half a decade ago. Rarely Book of the Week material, but every time it comes out, I expect quality, and I usually get it. Besides the odd tie-in or crossover, Marvel pretty much lets Peter David do whatever he wants with his little slice of the MU for the past 6 years, which is actually a bit of an oddity in this market.
Oh man, TWO Greg Land comics in one week! How could we ever be so lucky!? But seriously, Uncanny X-men is actually pretty solid right now. Who knew Uncanny X-Force would ever be the WORST X-team book this month? Saveus.Opena |

Or shall I just post a pic of my iPad, the awsomest comics tool of the century? Currently reading Essex County, hot damn is it good. Love Lemire on Sweet Tooth and I like this earlier, way sketchier style as well. It's incredibly subtle and nuanced and beautiful while at the same time being quite ugly. That's an acheivement. Only about 50 pages in so far but the flashback sequence with the uncle made me all teary eyed on the bus like a fool. |

I am as well, it has given writters something to do with her character, and she hasn't been a character where material just comes to you otherwise. The Proof of that is how little she has been used over the years. Vampire Jubillee? Cool beans, adn it's great to see how writters are starting to use that.

I don't know if this has been discussed before, but in Wolverine and the X-men I love that Gambit is the sex-ed teacher. |

You know one thing that annoys me about comics - I really had to scratch my head this week and last week to pick up anything good at the store, and then I look at the schedule next week and there's like 7+ books coming out that I wanna buy. Why don't these people spread out their good books? Batman, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, Winter Soldier, Birds of Prey, Catwoman, I mean come on. |
