Here's a few more albums that were released in 2011.

Prince Fatty meets The Mutant HiFi
Next time I play through Red Dead Redemption I'm using this album for the custom soundtrack.
Prince Fatty Meets The Mutant Hifi in 'Return of Gringo!' is the fevered and frontal lobe-damaged brainchild of Nick Coplowe (The Mutant Hifi) and Mike Pelanconi (Prince Fatty), the result of years of plotting, planning, laughing and procrastinating. Put simply, it is a surf/ska/spaghetti western soundtrack album for a film that is yet to be made. Think Dick Dale jamming with the Skatalites with Morricone at the helm, including appearances from Alessandro Alessandroni (the original spaghetti western whistler) and you're in the right section at the record store, although it is possibly a very small section.

The Expanders - The Expanders
The Expanders began playing reggae music together in the summer of 2003, and today are one of the most respected and hardest working reggae bands in Southern California. They have come to be known for their vintage "rockers" style of reggae, played in the tradition of classic 1970s Jamaican groups like The Ethiopians, Culture, The Mighty Diamonds, etc. Their music emphasizes three-part vocal harmonies and strong song writing. In addition to performing their own original material and rare Jamaican scorchers, since 2006 The Expanders have been the backing band of choice for legendary Jamaican singers when they come to California to perform, having backed such classic artists as Alton Ellis, The Maytones, The Ethiopians, The Wailing Souls, and many more. For two years in a row they were featured at the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival in Mendocino County, where their performances were praised in "The Beat" magazine as having recreated "the old classic Kingston rocksteady sound to a T". They have been frequent guests on SoCal radio shows such as "Reggae Central w/ Chuck Foster" (90.7 fm) and "The Reggae Show w/ Junor Francis" (88.9 fm). In addition to playing in The Expanders, several members of the band also play in Hepcat, The Lions, Chris Murray Combo, See Spot and Boogaloo Assassins.

The Sidewalk Doctors - Music Is Medicine
Formed by Lenny Bignell (who has previously worked with Pama Intl and Acid Jazz Soul stars Lord Large) and Nathan Thomas, The Sidewalk Doctors have a sound that is equal parts sweet, soulful and heavy.
Taking influence from Vintage Jamaican sounds, particularly the Rocksteady era, adding a dose of soul and molding it into something unique.
August 2011 sees the release of their debut album "Music is Medicine"
9 choice cuts of Ska, Rocksteady and Reggae, exquisitely delivered.
A tonic to cure all your ills.

Kevin Batchelor - Kevin Batchelors' Grand Concourse
This is a brand new NYC based ska/reggae project behind frontman Kevin Batchelor. Kevin is well known for his work as a sideman with The Skatalites, but now KB is fronting his own original project called Grand Concourse. The band is loaded with talent that Kevin met along the way in the close knit ska community. The instant chemistry in the group can be heard in their debut record.

The One Droppers - The Big One
The warm buzz of the valves, the scent of spinning vinyls, the sound of a needle moving gently into the deep furrows, delivering offbeat rhythms to the enormous black speakers of a sound system.
What the One Droppers are trying to do is to dust off their the Studio One records and make those sounds alive once again, in another country and another time.
The core of this band is to reproduce those sounds and to recreate that atmosphere, spacing from early ska to the rocksteady years.
Eight elements with years of experience execute that one drop with royal majesty, with their broken calypso lines, deep basses, snapping offbeat, vibrating hammonds, explosive brass section and hot, amazing soul voices, bringing out the best years of the Alpha Boy school in order to generate cool vibes, hard dancing and to shorten the distance to Kingston Town.
