I got my N64 like half a year after my gamecube but where I got it had loads of pre-owned games. I got Goldeneye, Mario 64, Waverace, Excitebike and... I saw this fighting game and thought, that'll be cool multiplayer fodder. Oh god how wrong I was...

Hands down one of the worst games I've ever played. I only paid about 2 pounds for it but it still felt like I'd wasted my money.

I bought Heavenly Sword expecting it to be GOW level fun but I have never been so disappointed in a title, at least this gen. This was the first time I felt the Sony seal of approval for first party games was compromised. Such janky animation, control and gameplay. GOW may get flack for being shallow but for me it's the perfect balance in the genre. You see there is NG which is perfection and then GOW which is balance allowing for great gameplay, set-pieces and adventure then Heavenly Sword on the opposite end which is how you don't make a game in the genre. Worst game purchased and or played this gen, I was thankfull that it was so short.

Why do it to yourself? Does a platinum trophy mean that much to you? It's the worst game you've ever bought, yet you want to play every last inch of it. Does not compute.

Some absolutely 'terrible' nominations.

But anyway.

Genuinely one of the worst games I have played is Shellshock 2: Blood Trails. Nothing about that game is redeeming in the slightest. Terrible art, terrible graphics, awful gunplay. Just plain rotten.

Australian censors did the public here a favour by banning it.

The only one I can come up with is Doc Clock and the Toasted Sandwich of Time. A physics-based puzzle game with horrible puzzles and physics. As a general rule all you need to do to get to the end of any level (I could only stomach about three levels) is to slap a couple wheels on some longer object and call it a car. Need some altitude? add a propeller. Oh you also need a shit load of luck in hoping the game's physics don't screw you over. Fortunately there's a rewind mechanic that allows you to retry sections until you get it right. The game would be impossible without it. Add in a wisecracking backpack similar to Kazooie only less funny (I know I didn't think it was possible either!) and you have yourself a massive pile of shit.

I'm happy to say I bought it in one of Steam's 5 games for $5 bundles. This way I can think I bought four games for $1.25 and had this atrocity heaped on for the hell of it.

On PS3: Wet. Buggy and boring as hell, plus it had an awful Italian dubbing. Turning it on English didn't change anything.
On PS2: Off Road Wide Open. I bought it when I was 12 iirc, after two races I put it back on the shelf and never touched it again.

I generally don't buy bad games, but I'll probably give it to The Thing since its central gameplay mechanic is a lie. And really, outside of the IP and the false promise of that mechanic, it's a shitty third person shooter.

And what a clusterfuck of a thread already. Eternal Darkness? GTA4? Rogue Galaxy? What a bunch of sheltered gamers/trolls.

Ditto, great fucking soundtrack that unfortunately has never been released or effectively ripped due to its dynamic nature.

In fact, XIII had fantastic sound design all around. That's about the best I can say for it.

What an incredible Trollfest.

Most of you have never bought a real bad game, if FF XII, Far Cry 2, LA Noir or things like that is the worst you can think of.

I bought some real crap during my gaming cycle. Ocean did some real bad shit and some of them I even bought.

But I think the worst game I have is this:

Ok, it was 500 Yen new, but still, what an incredible waste. The only good thing were the Sega points I got from it. It is terrible in every aspect.
