The thing that bugs me most is that James Newton Howard is doing the score. He's one of my favourite composers, but I'm worried he might drop some of Powell's sort of iconic themes.

While the professor is dying, you see both agent's humanity. The professor says to Bourne, "Look at this. Look at what they make you give.." In Gilroy's script, the professor says, "at least you got laid" and dies.

This is true, but I've also read that BOTH Liman and Damon were pushing hard to film the scenes the two wanted. Universal wanted to shoot the Paris scenes in Canada. In fucking CANADA. Though Liman admits he's a pain in the ass to work for, what else is new when it comes to shit hitting the fan between directors and studios? Liman's a good director. Brad Pitt said he wouldn't have done Mr. and Mrs. Smith without Liman.

I like Liman as well, though I find Identity to be his best. Smith and Jumper look awesome but are lacking in other ways.

Don't like Renner, but the premise is somewhat intriguing. I always liked the backstory of the supersoldier program in the Bourne movies almost as much as I liked Bourne's arc. They show a lot of the same actors and characters from the previous movies too, so it has the potential to retain the same interesting tone and structure.

It sucks that they have to name it "The Bourne Something" in order to capitalize on the brand recognition of that trilogy even though Matt Damon isn't in it. It's like when the Fast and the Furious 2 and 3 didn't have Vin Diesel in them. Sure, it's the same vicarious, cathartic style of film, but you take something out of it when you take your big lead actor out of the picture.

Just don't let Paul Greengrass shakeycam ruin the cinematography again.

Bourne was special compared to the others, but with him gone and a new program beginning it seems Cross is the new top agent. And it does seem like they're regarding him as as good or better than Jason, but I'm sure in Bourne 5 or 6 we'll see them fight to determine it or something

It'd make sense if Cross is getting some kind of bio enhancement; he'd be physiologically better than Bourne just because Bourne was only trained, not juiced up on whatever super soldier drug (as far as we know).
