Cranky. Very cranky.
Rather sarcastic to boot. (02-14-2012, 01:07 AM)

it's not the arcadey thing that pikmin 1 was, so if you thought that was too boring, you might not like pikmin 2. pikmin 2 plays a little more to the strategy side of things. |

This is making it sound like a launch title... Miyamoto has never clearly admitted the game's actual existence until now. Saying he's happy probably means there's finally something that worked for him and that the game is so ready. We don't know of any other official Wii U titles from Nintendo other than Pikmin 3.

Those dungeons in Pikmin 2 dragged on forever. I'd love to see it more like Pikmin 1. But they would have a hard time making it seem like an improved sequel if they go for that more simplistic approach. That ever-present time-limit and well-defined goals in Pikmin 1 really made the game fun.

I need to update my receiver because it doesn't have HDMI input. I considering the Sony HTSS380 3D Home Theater System since it'll be easy for my wife and daughter use, it will work with all my systems, and is relatively cheap.

Yeah like Luigison, my home theater system doesn't have HDMI input, so connecting optical cable into the TV would spit 2ch instead of 5.1. I learned this recently and had to buy an optical audio adapter for my Xbox 360.

What he said was he was retiring from managing huge projects like Zelda. He instead wanted to get back to working on small games that Nintendo doesn't treat like a big deal - games like Pikmin.

Don't worry, the moment a screen shot from a cellphone camera is taken of it, the game will be picked to pieces. Pixel this, texture that...gaf WILL break you.

No time limit completely ruined the urgency and need to plan. That's what made the first game so great. |

Yep, I'm in the same boat as well. I loved pikmin 2, but I do not love it more than the first. I know it's supposed to be a different beast, and I enjoy it for what it is.

Hold your horses. Miyamoto doesn't think high-quality HD graphics is a waste of time, money, resources, effort, nor does he think it's for "children" like Nintendo fans love to parrot? Huh.
This E3'll be amusing to watch from a distance. The convenient change in taste that Nintendo fans will undergo the minute E3 starts will be so sudden that I'm gonna get whiplash. I really, really hope this Pikmin game uses the art style in the original Pikmin concept art. As in, claymation Pikmin on a photorealistic environment. |

I hope being able to work with 10+X the power of the Wii really allows his and the team's creativity to go to town and re-sparks ambition in what they're able to accomplish. |

Don't worry, I'll restrain myself from posting on the Nintendo E3 topics. It's gonna be a minefield.
Their tastes changed drastically the minute the Wii was released after Nintendo stopped going after tech with the GameCube. Now they'll drastically change again that Nintendo's getting a little back in on the action, insisting their attitude didn't change at all this whole time. Timing is a little too perfect if you ask me.

Your generalizing a little. (A lot.)
Nintendo holds a pretty big spot as my favourite out of them, Sony and Microsoft, but after E3 2008, I got sick of it and I finally got a 360, and later a PS3. (Had a PC too before that.) I also got a PSP and I plan on getting a Vita down the line once it gets more games that interest me. (And see if the price won't go down a little like the 3DS, seeing how bad it's selling in Japan.) Now I play everything and Nintendo didn't fully get me back until E3 2010. I appreciate HD as much as anybody. I appreciated the Wii still, but I was disappointed that it wasn't HD like a lot of people. So yes, I'm happy as hell that Nintendo finally makes the jump and gets a little more horse power at the same time. |

But I still loved the game, even if I didn't complete it. |

This would be god damn amazing. I'm not even sure how that would work or even if it would, but it sounds amazing. Also potentially horribly expensive?
