I find it weird that my grindcore band books more shows than an electronic project. Most of my work is live-oriented in a way but finding someone interested in investing in something as risky as this is tough shit in this part of the world. I need to spread ma wings man.

I'm listening to it right now. Overall it's a bit too dark for my taste, but still like it. The only thing is that (and perhaps because I'm not too used to this kind of music) overall they all sound quite like each other. I also guess that's the whole theme of the album, so don't really mind my comment all that much.
My favorite song is New Dawn, because it's the less dark of all the songs. Still liked the whole album. |

Thanks Mik! Yeah this album is noticeably darker than the rest of the albums. First album was me finding my sound and toying with my Radiohead influences whereas the second one introduced a more focused video game centric theme. I'm trying something new every time and I'm having a blast cranking these albums out.
My only concern when it comes to these types of thematic albums is how I'm going to make a live setlist that will compliment my sound without interfering with the overall flow. Still haven't figured that out yet. Thanks again for listening! |

Haha just keeping those few interested in my work updated. Ever seen MarkMan's thread? Granted, there's not much activity from other GAF members but I always get extra hits/sales when I bump this thread with new info, so it's working out in my favor. You'd be surprised at the amount of lurkers who actually care enough to show their support.

Well fuck me. My laptop ran out of battery and I didn't save the Massive sound I created from scratch so now the new single sounds like shit. I don't know what the fuck happened. Even Ultrabeat suddenly stopped working. This saddens me deeply. :( My confidence in this track has dropped significantly and I'm not sure if I'll be able to recreate the sound. Woe is me. Was planning on releasing the track this week but now I'm stuck with nothing.

Thanks man! If I had to nitpick, I'd say I sort of rushed through the middle and I probably could've made it more comprehensible and better-sounding but overall I'm happy with it. I'm glad you are too. I try. :) Thanks!
The new one I'm working on or this one? :P |

Yeah, I've made the most money so far out of this album. I love it when people discover my music from this album and go back and purchase the other two. It's a good feeling. |

Update: I'm currently working on a video game with one of my closest friends called Simudroids. It's a charming little high score game we'll be putting up on Kongregate.
Basically, you play as Professor Beathaus, a musician/scientist who designs these simulations to test out his Simudroids, robotic droids who attack the player to the rhythm of the music. I wrote the music and co-produced the game. It's a really fun game with some catchy music. I'll likely open an OT when the game is out over at the gaming side. Can't wait to show it off. |

UPDATE: I wrote music for a short film directed by a prominent Saudi comedian/friend. Sent what I've done so far and he loved it. Already got offers from several other people including games and podcasts. Things are slowly but surely picking up.
I haven't started working on the 4th album. I plan on listening to Radiohead nonstop as influence. I want to emulate the sound from my first album but with everything I've picked up since then. Fingers crossed for something extra awesome. |

Now I've started working on album 4 and it's already a chill vibe I'm working with. Trying to bring the best of both worlds (a bit from album 1 and a bit from albums 2 and 3). I've been working on games and movies along with playing shows with my band that I completely forgot how intimate an experience writing Whiskers albums is. Full creative control and a singular vision, you could say. I fucking love it.

2 songs down for album 4! Also, be sure to look out for a game called Simudroids that I worked on. It's fantastic.
My 6th post in a row and no new posts in almost a month. This will probably be my last post until I release my 4th album. Crunch time. |

Having listened to this album quite a bit in the last few weeks, I can honestly say Whiskers fans are in for a treat.
Some really slick tracks on here, and I'm happy to say it drifts a little towards his first album (Abstract Sounds of Solace) which especially is nice for me because I like the floatier, ambient stuff. But not just that; like the first album, it sounds very solid, like a complete package despite there being a mix of heavy thumping tracks (Track 2 especially), some really ethereal stuff (Track 5) and some downright playful stuff (Track 8~). Track 8 sounds a little like something from 8-Bit Genesis days. Fun fact: I had a track from Starbound on my playlist about the time I downloaded this album, and on more than one occasion they would bleed into each other without my noticing. Considering Whiskers has already done a soundtrack for one game, I wouldn't be surprised if you hear more of him in that area sooner rather than later. |
