So my impressions of the Vita experience after a few days. I won't bother with the obvious stuff (screen, games etc.)

Pros:

- Hardware feels very good to hold. I am pretty excited for sports games on this thing. Madden and NBA 2K will finally feel legitimate on a handheld :o I think a silicone grip case will even improve the experience more

Cons:

- I cannot get over how terrible the UI is. What possessed them to make it so ugly? Why not just rip off iOS and Android? I rerally don't like the goofy looking icons either! Bring back PSP menus and incorporate touch into that, Also, I don't see why there can't be a choice to allow navigation with the sticks

- The PS Store needs to be fleshed out. Why must I browse alphabetically to search games? Why can't I sort by release date, price or user ratings? This is a ps3 issue as well but it's super-annoying on a small screen

- As small as the carts are, it'd have been nice to have 2 slots on the device. These things are just begging to get lost lol


That said, I think it's a very solid device and it'll succeed as long as it gets 3rd party support and good exclusives

Yeah, I love the HSG series. Ever since the first PSP title, I've been hooked on those games. I didn't play the PS3 one that much, but it seems to work great on a handheld. I'm not a fan of sports or real golf, but the HSG series is just so fun, and I love unlocking new things. The HSG series is so good, even Nintendo ripped it off with the Mario golf games.

I think it was intentional. They wanted to make the UI accessible and less intimidating as possible, so that the system can penetrate the mass market easily after a year or two.

I picked up a 32gb memory card today, not sure if I wanted to keep it, but really felt like I couldn't pass it up. I paid $75 plus tax for it, and while I really want to have a 32gb card, if I keep it, I'll have to probably wait a few weeks before I pick up Mass Effect 3.

I already got the 4gb that came with my FEB, but it's already full, and not all of my PSP games are even on it. I know I'm gonna need more space eventually.

Should I keep the memory card, or just try selling it? I wouldn't really get any more than $5 profit if I tried.

It's very strange, I can download to Vita only some of them (GTA Chinatown Wars for example) but most of them "can't be downloaded to this system" (so the store says). Some games are downloadable on the Vita.

Some games will work and need to be downloaded on the PS3, then transferred.

Some games won't work at all YET.

The game contents on the card are locked to a specific id. You cannot access them with a different id. Music, photos and videos will work though, it will just rebuild the database again for that.

hmm, I'm going to try and pick one up soon. I was going to at launch, but I have a ton of stuff to play already, and few of the games that I really want for the Vita are launch titles. Right now the only games i'd buy are Blaz Blue, Lumines, Rayman, and maybe escape plan.

Has there been any word on when the next wave of releases are planned? Personally right now I'm waiting on Disgaea, DJ Max, Dragon's Crown, and hoping that Ragnarok game sees a release in the US, looks pretty cool.

Also (still going through the OT) but it's confirmed that PS1 titles bought on PSN will work for Vita right? I'd be interested in picking up BOFIV, and Suikoden if true, will probably also determine which size memory card I pick up. Really hoping that Vita will do well enough to survive, looks like it has alot of potential.

Have you reached the point in the story where you get your house? It's only about 20 minutes in, but once you've assembled your house you can do saves there.

After putting in a day with this thing I have to say I am quite impressed. It feels like I am holding some damn powerful technology in my hands and can only dream of what awesome stuff will come in the future. It almost scares me what kind of visuals SquareEnix will produce if they give support like they did for the PSP.

Out of the three games I got Hotshots is my favorite.Surprising as I have never played a game in the series and really don't give a damn about golf games, but this is really quite a lot of fun. Just found out about custom soundtrack option and am gonna load up some great songs to golf to. I don't think I like Wipeout that much, and haven't put enough time into Uncharted to give an opinion. Looks nice though.

I kind of regret ditching my 3DS, but it was literally just collecting dust these last few months. I may get another one once Theatrythm and Kingdom Hearts show up though.

Had the same problem. Sound went out, I kept playing. I was kinda enjoying it from a shooter in the palm of my hands perspective. Then after the first mission, I quit because playing with no sound was annoying.


Then my system would do nothing. I thought of everyone talking about the Unit 13 Demo crashing Vitas, and the lightbulb went off. It crashed my system.


So I rebooted, tried to delete the demo, now it gives me an error. If this thing is going to crash my system AND not delete from it, I am going to be pissed. It is taking up very precious space on my 8GB card.
