PSP RPGs for Vita, what to get? #1

Looking for some meaty games for my Vita, most Vita based titles outside of Uncharted are pickup and play.

Where should I go first?

Ys: The Oath in Felghana is a good choice. It's a pretty awesome action RPG.

It's actually a stealth PSP thread.

Valkyria Chronicles II works, but you have to download it through PS3, it isn't up on the Vita store from what I have heard.

Final Fantasy Tactics for a srpg. Replaying it now. Still pretty solid, just hate the camera angles.

PSP2 doesn't work on the Vita, sadly. Not that it matters.. hasn't been up on US PSN for a while now, just randomly disappeared.

I don't think you can play it on the Vita if it isn't on the Vita store.

At least, that's the only way it makes sense.

Legend of Heroes Trails in the Sky is great! I also like Lunar Silver Star Harmony.

For strategy RPGs, Final Fantasy Tactics War of the Lions, Jeanne D'Arc, and Tactics Ogre Let Us Cling Together.

Persona 3 Portable is also pretty good.

You need a good sized memory stick for these obviously, but FF Tactics, Jeanne D'Arc, and Lunar have moderate file sizes.

EDIT: I forgot about the Ys games. They're also awesome and have generous file sizes.

I've already gotten FF IV CC and I'll get Tactics Ogre soon.
Unfortunately Trails in the Sky is still 35€ in Europe. :(

Oh well my copy of the game is physical so I would have had to buy it on PSN anyways.

Persona 3 Portable gets my vote.

Disgaea 2 if you want a really good grind-a-thon.

Intrigued by Trails in the Sky, hadn't heard of it. But, fuuuuck, Sony, £27.99 on the store. smh.

Got excited to see it was in a bundle with Persona 2 which I've never played, but that's £47.99!!!

Play Persona 3 before Persona 2. Much more approachable.

Final Fantasy IV - If you've never played FFIV, this is a good solid version to get.

Persona 3 Portable - Amazing game, will keep you occupied for a long time.

Ys Seven - Really fun action RPG. Beating things up is really satisfying.

Tactics Ogre - Gameplay is very similar to FFT but this is more fast-paced and player-friendly.

Valkyria Chronicles II - Gameplay is very unique, combines strategy and third-person shooting.

There are LOADS of games that will copy over but aren't officially listed. Only a few of them aren't, and I think they are on the Japanese store so it's probably a matter of time here anyway.

Ironically this is one of the games my best friend and I originally wanted to play at the Vita launch since neither of us had PSPs. We were crushed when we figured this out!

PS: Persona 3 is awesome!

Yeah :/

Might have to rethink these purchases for now and save them for later. Thought I'd be paying £10-20.

We had a wonderful thread about this a few months ago, though I don't think much of the RPGs are on PSN, and I'm not sure about the Vita-compatibility. However, it's worth a look!

I bought a new PSP! So where are all these great RPGs people are talking about?

Thanks again, picking up Ys Seven, either FF Tactics or Tactics Ogre (never played either*), and FFIV Complete. I want Person 3, but I'll wait for a sale.

*Tactical RPGs are not my bread and butter, have always avoided them, but where better to start with one of these titles... Now, WHICH ONE?

I can confirm this. Also, it's like 40 bucks on PSN normally, but if you search on PS3 for Valkyria, you'll see a bundle thats 22.49 thats the game and all the DLC. It'll transfer over onto the vita no problem.
