I just recently bought Dillon's Rolling Western and I'm having a blast with it. I should have definitely done that earlier, I'm just in the 3rd town but I'm loving the game so far. Is anyone else looking forward to Ketzal's Corridors? It looks like fun, and having liked Thruspace a lot, I'll buy it day one. |

I think it's most likely that they are planning some new release of these games, either retail, new DD versions, remakes or something else and don't want them to conflict. There's also the probability some of this is sparked by Wii U. Obviously contracts for VC games need to be renegotiated as there's very likely going to be transference with Wii or at worst new VC versions for the new console. It also wouldn't overly surprise me if these negotiations expand into 3DS as well. If that's the case perhaps Sega doesn't feel safe just giving away upgrades and newly expanded licenses to one of their few classic franchises still worth something. Sonic ports is probably a huge cash stream for them. |

I got Dragon Crystal, and for $3 it's a pretty fun roguelike. Some of the stuff it throws at you as you get to higher floors is just ridiculous though. Floor exits behind hidden passages, enemies that can lower your stats or even level you down as a side effect to their regular attacks? Ouch.

Seems like the Sonic games will stay on VC in Europe, at least.
Also, this week's EU update seems to be: 3DS VC: Dr. Mario (GB) DSiWare: Aahh! Spot the Difference eShop Demo: Pyramids Weird, because the Nintendo Channel says Mega Man 5 is supposed to be out as well (Also still no Game Gear games). |

It's super simplistic, and the music will get on your nerves.

I too am really looking forward to VVVVVV! I downloaded the pc demo and pretty quickly knew that this would be an insta-buy as soon as it makes its way over the pond to us European heathens! |

I haven't been able to make any progress since I got to a floor full of gold snails that level you down when they hit you. The first 10 or so floors were fun but after that it just throws too many things at you that are frustrating and downright cruel. |

I like that Nintendo is updating the ambassador games to full VC games. Now I have to wait until the games I am playing are released on the VC.
But man, at least sleeping when closing your 3DS should have been a day 1 feature. It's not like the 3DS has battery to burn.
At one point I used a book that revealed the map, and saw that I had like three hallways to run into, but it was all useless. Then I saw I had two of the fucking books! |

NES Ambassador games did have sleep mode from day 1. Only the GBA games don't have sleep mode when you close the lid, but some of them still have their original GBA sleep modes available.

Is there an easy way to see which games are set to the 3DS screen size?
I previously saw Metroid NES recommended for 3DS, but the Nintendo video shows it in what appears to be standard NES ration. Which classic games fill the 3DS top screen? I'd gladly pay extra to have the games fit the 3DS screen without simply stretching them. |

What games are expected soon? Nintendo's list only shows these: 1. 3D Classics Excitebike 2. 3D Classics: Xevious 3. 3D Classics: Kid Icarus 4. 3D Classics: TwinBee 5. 3D Classics: Kirby's Adventure 6. 3D Classics: Urban Champion |

I'm having a lot of fun with Dragon Crystal but the whole randomly generating thing works to your disadvantage sometimes when the gate is generated outside of a reachable area...good thing I've had some staffs that send me to the next floor or I'd be lost. Still have 5 more floors and no more staffs though so I better get lucky.

Yeah...I had no clue that was possible. I had been wondering for awhile why there was no use for the A button though so I guess that clears that up hahahahah.

It's implemented in the firmware, not necessarily on the servers (outside of Japan, that is). If it were, the Zen Pinball update would have been released months ago.

Seconding this, Twinbee's my favorite of the 3d classics so far. Sure Kirby's Adventure is awesome but it's expensive, the 3d isn't great and everyone's played it before. For a cheap, quick up and play game Twinbee's my favorite on the eShop. Assuming you like schmups, natch

I think I might be up to something: Zen Studios stated in February that the infrastructure for DLC wasn't up in Europe back then, and the Zen Pinball product page on the eShop was updated a couple of days ago and now sports the Nintendo Network logo.

Why not? There are already some retail DS games on there as DSiWare.
Doesn't that only go out to people who are on your friend list, even if it's streetpass? :P |

Digital distribution can and does compete with retail, though it's a long way from being able to replace retail. There's no way around that, and Iwata should just stop fretting about it. |
