![]() slimey storm edit: Barry O'Farrel is making it pretty hard to like him for the majority of the electorate. Putting the toll back on the M4, removing workers comp for travel to and from work. He could be the next Rudd. Knifed in the first term for the good of the party (so to speak). My prediction of him being a 1 termer might be right Fred. Not necessarily labor next time, but sure as shit not BOF if this keeps up. also question Why is it when Julia Gillard goes back on an election promise she is called a liar by the media and hounded like crazy but when Barry or anyone else goes back on an election promise its a backtrack not a lie. And the media leave them alone. Its disgusting

Today I attempted to make beer using the "brew in a bag" all grain method (all grain means not using any kits or extracts).
First you steep the grains in a bag immersed in water. This was around 66c, I fired the burner half way through to get it to 67c. ![]() Then you cover it and wait for an hour or so. ![]() This is the result of a starch test 5 minutes in: ![]() And after 60 minutes. A light colour means no starch, meaning it's all been converted to sugar, which is what you want. ![]() All's good, so you remove the bag and boil for 60-90 minutes, adding hops along the way. I added 25g of "Goldings" hops, 10g at the start, 5g more each at 15m, 30m, 45m in. ![]() Once it's been boiled, you've got to cool it as fast as you can: ![]() Then transfer into a fermentation vessel. Before adding yeast, I measured the OG (Original Gravity, or weight of the beer compared to water) at 1.042. This isn't very high and not too low either. ![]() After about 3 weeks in the fermenter I expect the FG (Final Gravity) to be 1.007-1.012. The difference will be how strong the beer is. I'm expecting 4%. This is a British ESB (or pale ale). Big post, but it was a pretty fun day. I guess it remains to be seen whether I succeeded or totally screwed up! |

Thoughts on the NSW origin selections? I'm glad they got rid of Uate, he was a huge liability in defence for the Blues. Worried about Glen Stewart being right, any sort of knee injury is sketchy. Hopefully big T-Rex can have more of an impact, I think they need to put him on for 15min each half instead of saving him. Morris will be a great replacement for Uate.

Somehow I never noticed that this article on pitching game projects, which was one of the required reading links for my game design course this year, was actually written by Gaz.
By "somehow I never noticed", I mean, "I never bothered reading this, but,". Because one of my long term goals in my life is to read as little text as possible. |

I'm not saying Gazunta is Videogame Jesus. But I am implying it. Strongly.

It looks good, plays nicely, but longevity is too hard for me to tell yet. |
