We've seen two of them, one in video, and the unseen one's usage is pretty well defined by it's appearance in two other games.
At this point, it seems more like they'll be player preference for starting choice than anything. They'll probably be able to have them available as choices across all of multiplayer, since cutting Elites from multiplayer would certainly buy you more RAM to play with. That DMR has a scope only a mother could love though. |

In fact, if the SMG is back in the game (which is doubtful) make a "Team Close Quarters" playlist. SMG/Pistol start, ARs and Shotguns on the map. Would be funtimes. Plus, it'd fit in with the whole "Training on the Infinity" thing. Close quarters training! Woo! |

I expect it to mostly feature in campaign. |

If you demote it to a map pick-up, it just won't get picked up. The thing is useless against anyone with a rifle, unless they're situationally unaware, in which case I could kill them with anything. While it is useless, it's only useless because the things around it are better. While it would make sense in real life for an AR to exist for close quarters, that doesn't translate well to video games, especially Halo, where the BR is king at all ranges. That's why I think it should have its own playlist. It promotes a different style of play, it's a little less serious, a little more hectic. And again, as a disclaimer, I'm not one of those people that thinks the BR is the worst thing ever and should be nerfed, I just have a soft spot for the AR in my heart hardened by years of MLG gametypes.

Then they went and added the Sawed Off to the game. Oh well, next time I guess |

With how big the reticule is, people will need to earn those long distance hits with really good aim, so it won't ruin big maps, I think. v Audrey Hepburn

-Precision Class (DMR, BR, Carbine, etc) or -Assault Class (AR, Assualt Carbine, SMG(?), etc) and -Side arm (pistol variations, and maybe even something like the missile pistol from the trailer) I would guess that a few weapons would play in between the two classes of primary, but with most secondaries having limited functionality, though they may see some unique diversity. Already, knowing the system plays out as a mix between Black Ops where you buy/unlock weapons and Gears 3 where you are limited to certain types of weapons tells me Halo 4 may see a larger count of weapons compared to past titles. |

I've said it before, but they need to just go ahead and add camo skins/scopes for weapons into the game. Go crazy with them like Gears did, stuff like that is harmless to the overall game, and I actually enjoy unlocks like that. Just don't charge 100 dollars for all of them like Gears, make them free. :P

Yes, possible, but my thinking is based off the idea that now that you can choose your starting weapon, they may be wanting to give users some different starting weapon based on simple preference than making sure these starting weapons are all different in the sandbox.
I fell like that's on half of video game site articles I look at these days. |
