If full-scale development of the Vita game doesn't start until maybe January 2013, not only is release a long way out, but there's very little possibility of a sequel. Outsourcing makes a lot of sense if the right team steps up. |

Where did you get this quote from? I know it is old, but just wondering where you saw it since you mention it :) (i cant see it anywhere in the Wired or Gamespot article).

I'm sure it's coming, just don't have your hopes on Ken Levine and 2k Boston developing it.

I'm being a little hyperbolic, but the point stands that if a Vita Bioshock is released, it won't be a AAA game. That doesn't mean it can't be interesting, but I don't expect a lot of resources to be invested in its creation. |

Yeah, seems like they're waiting for the user base to grow before they really invest in the project.

I never got the feeling that it was going to be a AAA game in the first place. When he offhandedly mentioned how he had an idea and the Vita seemed like the right platform I made the assumption then that it was a different, smaller experience. I guess not everyone else made that assumption? |

As an appreciator of Irrational's artistry, I'm very interested in seeing what they do with this game... but I'm getting more and more worried that expectations are not going to be in line with what the team's working on. We're all geared up for this awesome and faithful Bioshock, but if it goes the route of Metal Gear Acid or Ghost Recon Shadow Wars or even Silent Hill Book of Memories, the backlash against the game and the platform could be harsh even if the game turns out great. This system needs a win, hopefully whatever this Bioshock project is delivers on that hope.

yeah gonna be some awkward iOS-quality subpar game that will release simultaneously for phones and Vita. Vita will be $39.99 and have a "supreme shine", i.e. high resolution art and three extra unlockables. The phone version will be 99 cents. |

With all the conference hype leading up to nothing, this is the Vita's Agent. |
