Looks like the release has been delayed for 1 month. No biggie, I can wait :)

Same thing happened to the horrible 360 version of the first one at the last minute. Not expecting this to be a performer on consoles, but I hope I am wrong. Regardless, it is no more than a rent for me.

This is going to clash with Max Payne 3 now. I wonder if that will have any impact on their sales.

The last dungeon and ending is pretty disappointing but everything up to that is great.

Isn't it pretty much the general consensus that Risen kinda fizzles out towards the end, but until that it was sogood.gif

If they don't deteriorate the endgame similarly this time around, Risen 2 could be GOTY material.

Would you guys reccomend the first risen? The new one looks pretty good, and I was wondering of the first one is worth playing. The second one is grabbing my attention since its a pirate rpg, and that pirates of the carribean game got shut down.

Risen is definitely worth buying for. I've played it through twice and always had great time, except for the last 10% of the game, which was just OK.

If you like open world rpgs then you should definitely play it. I think they patched out TAGES recently so there's no reason not to buy it.

I'll have to agree with the other posters. The first game is worth getting because of the exploration and the combat was challenging but fun.

yeah it's very good, i'm usually not that big on Western RPGs but this i enjoyed a lot... finished it even, which is rare for me, it's up there with games like the Witcher etc. though it's more open world than that which can be good or bad!

Well, I didn't like the final boss and I found disappointing the general lack of new quests and content in the last part of the game, that turned it almost in an hack'n slash.... but beside that there isn't much I didn't enjoy in the game.

Even the dungeons, despise being very short, had the perfect feeling: dangerous places filled with strong enemies and deadly traps, where you needed to pay proper attention to survive, instead of being just places navigable with the "follow the corridor looking at the glowing thing in the minimap" approach.

I am terrified for the PS3 port of this game. I know it's the developers porting it over, but I know how these first try PC to PS3 ports tend to go.

Is there any footage of the PS3 version?

I don't think they've shown any footage from the console versions at all.
I'm pretty sure that both console versions are being ported by the same studio that made the 360 port of the first game. The difference is that this time they were planned from the beginning (Risen was pretty far along when the publisher decided that they wanted a console port and the devs that made the port didn't have much time to do it). You can tell just by looking at the UI, Risens UI was designed around kbm while Risen 2s UI seems to be designed around a controller, kind of like The Witcher 1 -> The Witcher 2.
