JET SET RADIO

--also gravity rush, I heard the story was short (10hr - no side quests only challenges), unrevealing/unsatisfying story at the end ( next title ) and generally cheesy. Gameplay looks fun so I am keeping my preorder but not expecting a complete package (AAA game) really.

Awesome! I was originally going to get this for PC, but having the game on the Vita would be beautiful.

Man, I can't wait for Gravity Rush. Mortal Kombat and Monster Hunter have been doing a good job keeping me busy, but I wants me some Gravity Rush and Resistance to really put some use into this thing.

20$ is a much better price for Lumines. That is one dry game.

Yeah, and saying that $20 is a better price for it isn't a dig at the game. It's just that it's way too hard to justify buying a $40 puzzle game in today's market (for obvious reasons).

How did Lumines do, sales-wise? I was at the local GS, and they said that they had received very few copies. They said that there simply wasn't a whole lot of interest this time around. Personally, I think it would have done better as a $20 downloadable title. The high-score chasing gameplay is too reminiscent of SSD, which is only $15.

Not sure, but I doubt it did too great. I loved Lumines on the PSP and had no problem paying full price at the time, but the puzzle game market is dramatically different with the introduction of smartphone app stores. iPhone and Android phones both have absolutely fantastic puzzle games that are just as content-rich as Lumines for $5 or less. I would have to think hard about it even at $20.

Licensed music is expensive and it's a core part of Lumines.

I know. I understand why it's more expensive, but it doesn't make it any easier to justify the high price. Several years ago, pre-iphone, sure, but not now.

That's not to say that hardcore Lumines fans didn't pick it up; I'm sure they did. But too high of an entry point for anybody else.

Didn't they release a mobile version of Lumines? And the PS3 version is something like $15. Do those versions not use licensed music?

I get what you're saying, but I don't think I've ever played a downloadable puzzle game with the same level of production values as Electric Symphony. It's an amazing audio visual experience. But I haven't played the cheaper XBLA/PSN version, maybe they're the just as impressive in that regard.

I played a Lumines on Iphone, and it's just not the same. Barebones presentation, no licensed music, and the touch screen controls are unwieldy. I played the demo for the PC version too, the controls were better but it felt barren and soulless in comparison to ES.

Oh, I agree. I think $40 is too much for this game (and pretty much every Ubisoft launch game, but they really wanted to be on the store shelves for the Vita launch I suppose). Now that they got the money from hardcore Lumines fans I hope they drop it to $20 so I can buy it.

Heh, I'm doing the exact same thing except rather than ask I blindly went ahead and used content manager. I'm sure I'll fuck it up somehow.

I'm sure everyone already knows this but my bloody Vita won't connect to my (launch 60gig) PS3 unless I connect it via the very first USB port. Weird but at least I solved it.

I'm currently moving stuff back to the PS3 in anticipation of filling the 32gig card I've got waiting. I'm sure I'll fill the old 8gig with something; just no idea what yet.

You fill it with demos, of course!

And the USB ports on my PC are the same way. The little nub for my wireless mouse only works if I place it in the right front USB port. Won't work in any of the other USB ports, front or back.

I like Handbrake. Very easy to use. Just make sure that you don't select "large file size." Can't afford to waste memory card real estate lol

Was at Gamestop today shopping around for a new game and I heard from one of the folks there that Capcom has discontinued production on new copies of UMvC3.

Is it me or does that seem way early?

Something to do with SFxT?

Either way, sorry of this is old news.

Demos... of course. I really should stop to think before posting.

I may also look into films/videos/music for travelling/flights etc. Shame the battery life is pretty bad.

Battery life is pretty good for music and so-so for video playback. If I just stick to music and video content, I don't have to charge it for a few days. I usually listen to podcasts while driving throughout the day (~ 2-3 hours) and watch a few episodes of a show at night.

Thanks for that. So far I've used mine exclusively for gaming so I wasn't sure. I'm in love with the screen though. Although on, say, my next flight I know there'll be decent entertainment (aside from gaming).

Does the screen shut down for music playback? I'd check myself but mine is transferring to my PS3 right now. And having an MP3 player I'd use the Vita for podcasts etc too. God bless convergence devices.

Friend of mine brought this pdp case from UK. Anyone using this case experienced any problems? It just wont close when the vita is inside the case because of the analog sticks. I don't want to force it too much.

There's a Resistance BS demo coming out this week, right? I'm still iffy on buying it.

Hey gaf can you help me?
I finished a couple of PSN Games and I want to backup the savefiles and remove the games from the memory card but I can't find them. Where are they? How can I transfer them to PS3? Or do I have to use PC Software?

By the way I'm very happy :D most part of the PSPGo's bundled game now can be downloaded on Vita, I'm about to play Motorstorm AE on glorious OLED :D

There is no separate save file. You just transfer the entire game over IIRC. So if you downloaded wipeout and it was 1.5GB then to keep your "save" you need to transfer that entire 1.5GB file onto your PC/PS3.

You do all the transferring from the Vita though, you don't access it from the PC or the PS3.

Why not wait

If deal/sale, you win
If it doesn't happen, it will still be there at the same price as it is now

I'm in Australia so I can't buy from Target, but I'm using US PSN. A lot people seem to like this game, contrary to earlier opinions.

If there were going to start having sales on Vita games on PSN, they'll probably start with Little Deviants. That said, even then it probably wouldn't go under $20.
