Are the slowdowns in SOTN (Dracula X version) and MMHX still there on Vita ?

I haven't played very far in to SotN, but MMX runs much better than I remember on PSP.

Gran Turismo PSP will now download fine via the Vita PSN store. I think it was fixed yesterday. Not really sure how I'll transfer my save from my PSP1000 since the USB isn't working and I think I can't just copy over the files since the Vita can't be accessed like that on a PC... Anyway, game looks good and runs really, really well on the Vita. I had small slowdowns at the beginning of the race and at the end of the race when using the PSP1000 but it's buttery smooth all the time on the Vita.

I'm 99% sure you can copy PSP save data from a PC with Content Manager. Gran Turismo saves are locked though, I couldn't transfer mine from a PSP 3000 to the PSP Go.

Sony needs to adjust PSN prices. The price for a digital game should always be less than the going rate for a used physical copy of the same game. Why is this so hard for them to understand? Uncharted: Golden Abyss PSN - $44.99 Amazon (new) - $46.37 Amazon (used) - $32.46 shipped eBay (used) - ~$32 shipped Wipeout 2048 PSN - $35.99 Amazon (new) - $38.95 Amazon (used) - $29 shipped ebay (used) - $23 shipped There's no good reason to buy Vita titles from PSN. A digital download sale is the best possible type of sale for Sony because all of the money goes to Sony (or the publisher) and a used sale is precluded, hence it should be priced accordingly. A used game sale is, of course, the worst possible sale because no money goes to Sony and the game can be resold. With a new physical game sale, part of the money goes to the retailer and the buyer has the option has the option to sell the game. I am willing to give Sony $30 for a digital version of Uncharted: Golden Abyss. They want $45. So I will probably buy a used copy for $30, none of which Sony will get a part of, and then sell it when I am done, also costing Sony another sale.

I buy games I'd never resell digitally and for games with a shorter shelf life I buy the digital copy. For example, I have Lumines, Stardust, and Mutant Blobs Attack on my card. I have physical copies of Uncharted (one play through and I'll be done), MLB 2012 The Show (seasonal sports game updates FTW) and Wipeout 2048. I actually intended to get Wipeout as a digital download but when I got the Vita I had enough store credit and the Gamestop I was at had it marked down to $29.99. So much lower price plus paid for without using real money. I'll probably trade it in at some point when the digital download is cheap enough and double dip that way.

Agreed. I also bought a digital copy of Lumines for the same reason; I can see myself playing it a few years down the road. If Sony had priced the digital versions of Wipeout or Uncharted more attractively, maybe you would have bought it on PSN, thus preventing a copy from entering the used market in the future.

Exactly. They could drop prices, but used will have to drop even lower (or no-one will buy used). It's an unrealistic cycle. You can say digital should be a certain percentage below retail, but used is not set by Sony, it is set by the market and is based on demand and new pricing.

The gap is way bigger in Japan, the used game heaven. Price of new games is often affected as well.

I was looking into shinobido 2 and the English version had no (free until a certain date) DLC yet so I went looking at the Japanese version. On PSN, it cost roughly 5000 yen and on amazon it's 3380 -NEW-.

I pointed this out to the Japanese publisher in this case and have filled in psn surveys but I don't know if anyone else is complaining or not.

Hot Shots Golf has my vote. I've never played HSG much less a golf game other than Wii Sports and I've been hooked playing HSG for the vita. Be prepared though, the learning curve becomes really steep and gets harder to win matches as you move through the ranks. Still don't let that deter you since it is really an addicting and rewarding game.

I don't think that's going to work. I believe the game are tied to the account you purchased them under. So she'd need to play using your account or you'd have to re-buy the games for her account.

In your situation it probably makes more sense to purchase the physical carts instead of digital downloads. That way when one of you is finished with a game, the other person can play it (assuming that they wipe any save data from the cart).

It's hard to say. I've been playing HSG like crazy recently. It's even pulled me away from Uncharted:GA. But if you've never played a HSG game before, I'd be reluctant to recommend it. Do you like golf?

I don't have Wipeout 2048 yet but I do love Wipeout HD on the PS3. If you know you love Wipeout, I'd probably suggest going that route since you know what you'll be getting.

I have only played demo of MH2 on PSP a year or so ago and deleted it fast since i felt it was pointless grind.

Compared to that GEB feels really good - missions are fast (up to 10 minutes so far) and when you do them story advances (kinda like Valkyria Chronicles 2).

I just played my first difficulty 3 mission (around 7 hours mark) and story was so far very interesting and makes me want to play another and another mission to unlock next bit of secrets among secrets.

Also so far i manage well with my policy of doing each mission once so minial gring.
Of course there are also areas where you can very deeply like bullet creation - but so far rellying on bullets from merchant have been ok.

One of key factors here is right analog used as d-pad which makes controls comfortable instead of hand deforming exercise like it would be on psp.

For 10 euros it's a steal

I managed to transfer my data from PSP2000 to Vita. EU Gran Turismo if that matters. Did it all through the PS3.

Yeah, 2048 features new tracks. Tracks from the PS3 game are just for cross-play multiplayer.

I really can't believe that they can let minis be released at this point that aren't Vita compatible. It's terrible enough that pretty much the only older mini I want to play isn't available, but going forward it just makes no sense.

Are the touch screen controls mandatory? I've always been curious: I have to imagine that it makes movement awkward when you have to take your thumbs of the analog sticks to reload and knife, especially when you play online. I saw the same for UC:A, they should really make it optional.

I dont know why VITA lacked the R3 and L3 when it is trying to emulate consoles, but couldnt they map this to the backpad? The four corners could each support the missing inputs, or is that uncomfortable?

I've been playing around with controller setups in my head, it'd be really cool if VITA could also somehow allow for you to customize controls via a patch update

Yeah the back and front touch are going to have to make up for missing L2, R2, L3, R3.

Double tapping the back for sprint is a good idea i think and much better than having a front touch button for it.

I recommend HSG. I've never played a hot shots game before and I"m not a fan of golf. That being said, this is the most played vita game I have. I've been doing the 3 dailies daily (online tournament). Even when you do bad, it seems there is someone even worse. The game is highly recommended.

I've played Disgaea 3 for about an and a half now. I've skipped the story at every possible moment. Seems awful and boring. I love the gameplay, though! I've never really played a SRPG. I am finding it a bit difficult. I finished the tutorials with a tiny bit of difficulty, then barely made it out alive on the first non-tut mission. Ugh. I'm gonna stick with it.
