No, they are showing various areas of the game and with different builds. Today was with a Mystic Knight. Tomorrow the Magic Archer.

So much of Dragon's Dogma looks just excellent, but I'm still put off by the constant presence of A.I. companions. In games of this kind, I much prefer to play as a lone wolf - I didn't use a single companion in Skyrim. A sense of isolation and independence is more appealing to me, for some reason.
That being said - I'm still buying the hell out of this. |

The Magic archer has no defense...but he continues to use a dagger....use the damn staff/bow combo.
edit: A guy named icelighter in the chat was harping for it. They finally listened to him. Good job to that guy.

Oh, of course. That is what demo's are for. Just giving my impressions is all. |

I hope people who criticize this game for looking "janky" did the same for like, every Elder Scrolls game ever. In this case it at least should pay off with interesting combat.
Edit: Not that I'm targeting you, Grandharrier. It's just a topic that comes up fairly often. |

It's really the last thing I need confirmation to buy it at full price without butt hurt, because I don't buy DLCs, lol

I'm also concerned about interrupting animations. Do we know if the game locks you into animations? Or can you break out of them to say, dodge? |

I remember seeing Strider having a primary skill that allows you to reset your stance, so some might be class based: ![]() Really don't know until we get our hands on the game though :( Edit: like from the class videos for strider, it shows that you could roll out of simple combos http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qsJBHTFGpg

Judging from the videos there are some clunky classes like mages and warriors but they seem to be designed that way, etc. |

They are supposed to learn and get better as you go through encounters. So hopefully that means making more intelligent decisions as you play.

I will still rent this though. It still looks to be really deep despite that...nastiness. |

Well KoA felt pretty cool, other than being too easy. It did combat well for the most part, just put more effort into flash over substance. I'd say it looked less janky than this, mostly because, it's hard to tell if the weapon should even hit sometimes in these videos, and enemies bouncing around with awkward physics.
