Hey, Europe, this is the month you guys get La-Mulana, according to the NoE listings!

Just like last month was the month you got Cave Story DSiWare.

Wait.

Rhythm Thief got delayed in North America again. This time to July.

Don't be surprised if the demo is delayed too.

Why is Nintendo dropping the ball on the VC? I want me some Wario Land, it aint that hard to bring it over, is it?

NOA doesn't seem to understand that there's room for both Virtual Console and 3DSWare games on the eShop, even in the same week.

Just thought I'd add this to the new thread. Many Irem titles were removed from the Wii Shop Channel at the end of March. Here's a complete list of all VC and WiiWare stuff missing from the U.S. Wii Shop Channel at the moment.

Wii VC:
R-Type (Master System) (9/30/2011)

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (early February)

Bloody Wolf (early March)
Drop Off (early March)
Silent Debuggers (early March)

Legend of Hero Tonma (3/31)
Ninja Spirit (3/31)
R-Type (TG-16) (3/31)
Super R-Type (3/31)
Vigilante (3/31)

WiiWare:
Bruiser and Scratch
Diner Dash
Evasive Space
Jungle Speed
Lonpos
Neves Plus
Penguins & Friends: Hey! That's My Fish! (removed prior to 04/01)
Pit Crew Panic!
Planet Pachinko
Shootanto: Evolutionary Mayhem
The Magic Obelisk

Less than 3% of all WiiWare or Wii VC titles have been pulled.

WiiWare: 381/392 available
Wii VC: 386/396 available

I tweaked the spreadsheet ( http://codebook.potchgult.com/clubnintendo ) -- there is now a tab listing all titles removed from the Wii and 3DS Shops. Have any DSiWare titles been removed from the DSi Shop?

I've added a link to this post to the OP.

Wonder Boy in Monster Land (Arcade) and Monster World IV (Genesis) should be on the 26th if the date on xbox.com was legit and Sega releases them across all systems on the same week.

This is... odd and interesting.

Tetris Party Live (DSiWare) is no longer available on the 3DS eShop -- even though it was spotlighted in the Tetris category not that long ago.

I assume it's gone from the DSi Shop Channel as well, but I can't confirm that. It's also rather difficult to check whether any other DSiWare games are missing due to the way the 3DS lists software. I'm going to have to do something about that.

I just checked my European DSi's Shop and couldn't find it there, so I assume it probably isn't available in the US one either.

Tetris Party Live is the only DSiWare title to have been removed -- I ran down the entire list, and nothing else is missing. I did learn that several DSiWare titles have the entirely wrong release date listed in their eShop pages, though.

Maybe a lil off topic but, can we expect a new Nintendo direct soon? One before E3 would make sense.

Would it make sense? The last one seemed like it covered everything that's coming before the summer. If they've got any more announcements I'd think they'd just wait until E3 to make them.

Two copies sold? That's not a bomb guys, stop trolling!!!
They said Q2, which has started just...yesterday. There are still three months, folks!

maybe they release an updated version for 3DS?
(I hope)

Why is Shantae 12$ here on the eshop but 5$ on iOS? :(

I still bought it because I've always wanted this game and never had a DSi but geez. If I had an iPad/iPhone it wouldn't be a choice. Same with VVVVVV pricing :(

They're totally worth it btw but it can't help to irk a bit.

Because DSiWare pricing is fucking crazy.
It's amazing they didn't universally lower the price of them when the eShop launched since now you have games like Pushmo selling for half of price of DSiWare shovelware.

Simple answer: # of iProduct / PC owners > # of DSi / 3DS owners.
Longer answer: There are more people with iPods and iPads and whatnot than any other handheld device available. A game could sell for less than two dollars and still get more profit than other venues, simply by having so many eyes spot the game (note that there is also a lot of competition, so games can still fail). DSiWare games were priced heavily based on size: 2, 5, and 8 dollar tiers (with Shantae being the only $12 game due to hype and large scale). Nintendo also doesn't allow prices to shift, or else, as Iwata once said, the value of overall downloadable content would be lowered. The 3DSware titles do have pricing based on what the developer/publisher wants, though, so you'd have to talk to Nicalis about VVVVVV's price.

A different answer by Jools Watsham, Mutant Mudds creator: http://joolswatsham.blogspot.com/2012/01/where-do-prices-of-video-games-come.html

So annoying that they feel like VC game releases need to be featured prominently. The games had their time in the spotlight...when they were originally released. Why not just open the floodgates? It's even worse since NES games are in the mix for 3DS VC, since they're already on the Wii VC.

Ah, ok. I thought maybe the original had somehow made it onto the eShop. But yeah, still not interested at that price.

Colors! 3D will be mine. Time to brush off my drawing skills.

Because you'll be playing with actual buttons and d-pad. /trollface

No, seriously, DSiWare pricing structure sucked. For whatever reason (maybe legal stuff), even after the 3DS eShop launched Nintendo still kept the same prices. The iOS version was released two years later and was the only way to discount the game.

Oh god, I can't wait for Colors!3D, its the app that's gonna get me back into swapnote too.

Oh, I didn't think about that. I'll be spamming my friends with some crude drawings alright.

Anyway, the strongest draws for me are:

- Seeing the playback for drawings (it's amazing watching amazing drawings being done)
- The online gallery (which can be accessed from pretty much any device with a browser)
- Being able to export the drawings into wallpaper-grade resolutions.

The 3D layers are just icing in the cake.
