boy, I can't wait to get my hands on the 3D Farming Simulator demo. I will pick up the retail version next week. in fact, it's one of my most anticipated 3DS games this year.

Honk, if you're with me.

I just hope Deer Drive Legends get a demo too at some point as it is also on my list.

I'm still waiting for Nintendo to announce a VC for GBA games. We all know it's coming, but I just hate how they keep denying it or staying quiet about it.

So, interesting tidbits of information regarding Tetris Party Live.

* Tetris Party Live was developed by Tetris Online. They also developed the WiiWare Tetris game and Tetris Axis for the 3DS.

* Nintendolife.com contacted Tetris Online about the game vanishing from the DSi Shop / 3DS eShop, and was told "Tetris Online Inc.’s license from The Tetris Company expired at the end of March and there are no plans to renew it." (http://www.nintendolife.com/news/201...ars_from_eshop)

* Tetris Online was founded by Henk Rogers, Alexey Pajitnov, and Minoru Arakawa.

* The Tetris Company was founded by Henk Rogers and Alexey Pajitnov.

This would appear to be the intriguing case of Rogers & Pajitnov opting not to license their game to themselves. Now, granted, this is all perfectly possible, but it does seem like a strange turn of events -- especially considering that they didn't pull their WiiWare game. I'd think that an expired license would equally impact the WiiWare release.
Now I'm curious if something is going on between The Tetris Company and Nintendo of America. They've always been close... but even if, say, Arakawa was coming out of retirement, I can't see how that would change anything with regards to licensing...

Maybe it isn't coming.
The emulator running the ambassador GBA games isn't fit for selling and since they haven't announced updates for the ambassador GBA games like the NES games maybe they can't or don't want to fix it.

Shining Force and Defenders of Oasis Rated for 3DS VC

The Australian Classification Board is a treasure trove of hints at which games are waiting in the Virtual Console wings, and it's come up trumps again today with two more Game Gear games rated for 3DS.

Shining Force: Sword of Hajya and Defenders of Oasis are both approved for sale on 3DS, and should hopefully hit the service later this year.

Shining Force: Sword of Hajya is one of three Shining Force 'side stories', and the only one that was ever translated into English. Along with prequel Shining Force Gaiden it was later combined into Shining Force CD, but you can comfortably make it through Sword of Hajya without much prior knowledge of the series.

Defenders of Oasis is another SEGA-published RPG, drawing on influences as diverse as Phantasy Star and Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. A decent game that never really found its audience, it's good to see it coming to 3DS too.

Both these games featured in our list of the Game Gear games we need on Virtual Console — let's hope SEGA is already working on the others.

Shining Force in any form back then was golden, that's gonna be one for me to check out.

Well, it is a farming simulator. You can't do a cool ad for something like that, so I suppose you might as well go overboard in relax atmosphere.

Or something. Truth be told I do wonder who they consider the target audience with an ad like that.

Those two games are all I really needed from Game Gear VC.

It's a shame we'll never get Phantasy Star Gaiden or Gunstar.

I could see Gunstar Heroes GG as an import. M2 actually developed it iirc.

Then again, I think we'll probably see Genesis on 3DS VC anyway in time. How different are the games, I never played the GG one?

God the 3ds eshop has basically killed itself again. We had a strong run, but we're back to not many big releases coupled with Nintendo still not giving a real fuck about the VC.

Sooo much wasted potential.

PS: I saw someone else ask and got one reply, but I'd like more. Is Metal Torrent really worth it? My buddy and I both were talking on the phone yesterday about if we should get it or not.

Never heard of Beyond Oasis before, but I love the cheesy beefcake cover. Why don't games still use that kind of art? (Though I'd prefer if it was representative of the actual character designs, not some random reinterpretation.)

I will buy both.

Ninja Gaiden 1-3 have been rated by the ESRB for 3DS (and Wii). I guess NG 2 and 3 would be the NES games, but NG says (arcade) by it, so maybe it's that and not the NES version. That would be kind of weird though, so maybe it's a mistake.

I have to admit I play the PC version sometimes and am very curious how this carries over to the 3DS.

It's certainly not for everyone, but it's good for people who like that kind of game.

Guys, help me select games!
Colors 3D's advent has made me purchase a 20 USD pre-paid card to get it, and since it'll cost 6.99 USD, that leaves me with 13.01 USD to spend on other things.
I was thinking Pushmo and Mighty Switch Force but I'm not entirely sold on either, recommendations?
Just so you know, previously I had a DS lite and never owned a DSi, so I'm also willing to get whatever good DSiWare games there are on the eShop, specially the Art Style games since I enjoyed all the WiiWare ones.

Ok, playing one of my favourite childhood games again but this time in colour feels so good. There's some stuff I've found which I swear I never found due to the black and white leaving some bits not visible when I was younger, then again it might have been the lack of backlighting.

What I meant to say was that I expected to get hooked on it right away like I did with Picross, but it's not happening... Maybe it'll suddenly click later.

Also, question! At what time does the American eShop usually update?

It takes a while to get good, just because the first puzzles are all very easy. Once you have to actually think about the solution, it's a lot better.

I used to boot up my 3DS eagerly every Thursday for the latest eShop update.
I don't think I've touched it much at all since February. Just added RE: Revelaitons and Tales of the Abyss to my backlog and that's about it.

This week clearly is no different.
