If this block comes back the ad men are going to be royally pissed the fuck off. They like the animation world as it is now. There happy as clams that Disney beat Nick finally in the ratings.
Adding Toonami to a Saturday Morning/Late Night Block dont hurt them, but take a web and outdoor planning if they do it will piss off them off because they want nothing to do with the genre nor action animation with rare exceptions and web thing if done the way i slated will make a fuckton of money for those that want the shows but dont want the whole cable box. |

That and you actually gain a larger demographic than Cartoon Network has now, meaning young adults, and older males. Meaning, more than one adult male will see those ITT Tech commercials when they play. It's a win, win, win, win.

I'm still not getting your point exactly. Are you saying they'd be "mad" because CN would get higher ratings on Saturday Nights, or what? |

![]() This looks very promising! I really wouldn't mind if they just kept something like their AF joke (keep using old footage but make new promos) |

Oh when I say the ad men that dont want Toonami back. I mention the people who work for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim for there advertisments and promotional work. There called BRS i think and they have been working some what with the live action side. They dislike the action side and promote the comidic side like crazy.

![]() EDIT: That makes sense. The dude made it sound like that he was a part of some big ad agency, but I would think that they would be located in America, seeing as he was saying he knew the Disney guys, but his English on here is really bad, I would think that they would speak English as their native tongue (maybe not I guess), or at least fluently, and I know some people don't care about grammar or punctuation on forums, but most of those sentences do not make logical sense. Either way, nobody that knew anything would be on any forum, even Neogaf, talking about it if they did.

But to be honest - IMO Toonami if they do the things i think there planning can be a game changer for the next generation. Maybe it would do what the FGC has been doing for a while - unify otaku and geek fanbases, and improve them both and maybe the business model in many aspects of the entertainment biz. |

They are but so are Comedy Central and MTV. Just imagine if MTV was on all day and changed to Comedy Central at say 9. Two channels sharing the same channel space.

Oh, okay, I see now. It's kind of weird that they're on the same channel though. Basically the CN guys don't hold any powers over the AS guys, and vice-versa, right?

Well I don't know their corporate structure but there is probably a head of each division who answer to somebody or a group of people in charge of the overall channel space.

actually, anime is a loan word from france. The Japanese call moving pictures Doga - thats why you have the word Toei - Doga on many early anime works. The reason why the name stuck is because of the French-Canadian coproductions with studios like Topcraft and the like and the Original DIC.

While it was great watching Toonami last weekend after all those years; I think Toonami should be left in the past. I hope that if does come back that it will be a huge success, and that it lives up to what everyone wants. But after all of these years of CN/Williams Street/Adult Swim mishandling anime I just don't see happening.

Edit: I guess I don't know if that was their decision or the network's, but it still pisses me off thinking about.

They basically went from half-funny and half anime, to full on funny. |

I personally blame their decision to air shows that rely on the "every episode ends in a cliffhanger" style without being able to air the shows in a single run. When durararara, Code Geass, and FMA brotherhood went on hiatus I went to Hulu/Crunchyroll to finish watching them and never bothered again with watching it on AS.

I've said this before, but I want it to be a Saturday night thing, but that's for my own selfish reasons. (I usually work in the afternoons on weekdays, and Saturday night is perfect.)
The current lineup is really weird on Adult Swim. Some of the shows are pretty good (Venture Bros., Children's Hospital), but others I honestly don't know who watches. People say they're for the stoner crowd, but they aren't even amusing when you're high.

I hope they ignore the T.O.M v4 thing and just continue with v2 or v3 when it comes back on. |
