Yeah, I feel almost guilty. I liked the characters a lot. I liked the general wackiness (but not cartoon wackiness like Den-O), I LOVE LOVE LOVE the music. The cheesy love stories did it for me. I mean, it wasn't a mindblower as far as the plot twists went. I like how Wataru grew up, I adore Otoya for obvious reasons, Yuri and Megumi were hot, IXA was a cool Rider. I dunno, it just did it for me. Meanwhile, everyone seems to freaking LOOOOOOOVE Faiz and that was one of my least favorites by far. I think I feel about Faiz how everyone feels about Kiva.

The music's pretty awesome I agree. It has my favorite Rider Kick music. All the suits are pretty cool too. I think my main problem with Kiva is I have a wildly different expectation about the series. Also the way they handled the toys are pretty bad (ShooDoran, Powered Ixa, BronBooster).

Also seeing them kill the guy, civilian problem solved, dude grows big, kill it with mecha also got tiresome.

This is pretty much every Sentai, and the only one with a slightly different structure is Go-busters, as far as I know. CMIIW, Sentai guys!

Not sure if I'll watch another season, maybe Go-Onger. But I basing that just on how cool I think the suits look. Was the season any good?

Finished Gokaiger. Really enjoyed the season. Things I liked: -Gokai Silver, I think having him be a Sentai fan is a genius move. It creates an interesting -GoZyuJin Thins I didn't like: -I'm not sure if anyone else thought this way but it felt like the team didn't care for each other until later in the season -All of Gokai-Oh's transformations looked tacked on and ugly I think I just dislike giant robot fights. Not sure if I'll watch another season, maybe Go-Onger. But I basing that just on how cool I think the suits look. Was the season any good?

I loved that Gokai Silver was a Sentai fan, because by definition, Gokai Silver is who I would have been had I been on the show. :P It also doesn't hurt that the silvers are my favorite. Also, GoZyuJin was a SICK robo. Gokai-Oh was bulky and ugly. They were like those giant legos for the littlest kids. The only cool version was Shinken Gokai-Oh.

I feel like the team always liked each other a lot, they just never showed it because they were too cool and "showy" to show emotion like that, and part of their coming around by the end of the season was them learning how to be a caring group to other people and to the people of Earth. I thought it was rad.

Dekaranger's was perfect, you can not hear that opening alarm and not get pumped. Dekamaster's theme oozed old school badassness, and the only music that competes with SWAT mode's "you done fucked up now" mood is the Kagenki theme.

One thing I never thought I'd like about Akibaranger is Akiba Yellow...her cosplaying...she pulls it off so well that I'm well IMPRESSED, plus her cosplaying as the two later characters just made her appear as a totally different person O_o.

Was it 30 to 24 or more just a move from videotape to film? Up until Hibiki it was that way.. I remember getting my tapes of Kuuga in the mail back in the day and having that full frame motion unlike how the encodes look, they still don't quite capture the framerate that they had, even the subs don't match the framerate of the DVD's because of the encoding.

I don't know if the show was any good or not, but it was the climax of a downward spiral in ratings for the series. When the Tokyo Subway Sarin terrorist attack occurred in 1995, dark shows that dealt with that kind of stuff (like Ohranger) were considered to be in very bad taste, which was the absolute last thing the show needed. A lot of rewrites were made to the show to change it's tone (basketball playing mecha!), but it was too late.

And therefore, the next Sentai show Carranger was a comedy, and ratings went back up and the show wasn't cancelled.

Indeed it did. And honestly I missed that in the encodes so much. It really hurt even more when TV-N shitted up the encodes so badly. I was amazed when I first saw Kabuto and the new film style. Gad that makes me feel old though, getting 4 eps a month from my contact in japan back in 2000, that and Timeranger every month *lol* I had way too much tokusatsu on tape, going all the way back to 1983.

Man Turbo was meh for me until the new guys were there. I'll never understand the character focused part of PR here as opposed to the team iteration of each new sentai in Japan.

THAT is a bit of a stretch. :P Though its weird because Yasuko Kobayashi is the writer and she usually writes fantastic characters like the Shinkengers and the Timerangers...so when I found out it was her, I was hoping to get a great character show...but alas! It was made to seem early on that Foundation X was supporting all those birthday parties. If I'm to remember correctly it was the original plan for Foundation X to be the new Shocker. It could be possible that Foundation X is supporting AHS and the Kougami Foundation. We'd never get that kind of answer this soon and on TV to boot. If it's the case we'll get some movies that explain the deal behind it all.

Cosmic States is fucking awesome. I'm glad the show's premise was the power but not the final power. Gotta save something for the movies. I wonder how Cosmic States will translate into the next Climax Heroes game?

Go-Busters, get to Beet and Stag ASAP. I'm not really into Buddyroid/Human relationships.
