That's more a criticism of the narrow demands of a certain audience than it is for Nintendo's approach to SS. |

E3 2011:
+ The Orchestra Opening (The fact that it was one of the highlights of the WHOLE E3 tells how boring it was overall.) + The Zelda HD Demo + Luigi's Mansion 2 + Smash Bros. Wii U and 3DS - Padding (I mean talking about Pokédex 3D, really?) - Botched Wii U Reveal - Not a whole lot of new software |

I hope Shinen makes a FAST sequel on Wii U, preferably retail but by now I know it just isn't that likely at all.
I like just how damn close it is to Wpieout, hell I didn't touch one until I played the Vita game at a demo station and went "damn, FAST really is like Wipeout". And just look at what Shinen pulled off: ![]() I don't know why people compare it to F-Zero (which I haven't played, I'm more interested in the punching Falcon than the racing Falcon), at least other than gameplay, since the designs and such look straight from Wipeout. Really all that's different are some gameplay elements (no weapons it seems), and the courses aren't as futuristic. |

Maybe I wasn't clear enough but I mean some game that is fan service. You know, something to get the fans all hyped to the max and drooling. It would obviously have to have profit potential to be developed.
As I've said before, wait for the Nyko Subscreen Pro. |

Brawl's a great game. Melee transcends it. |

If Nintendo really is in bed with EA I could potentially see something big come out of that. Ubisoft is also a possibility but I think it will be more likely a repeat of their Wii and 3DS support: dump a lot off at launch and dribble out games afterward. So many small developers have been soured from WiiWare getting exclusives from them will be an uphill battle. Apparently they were very cooperative and friendly to get people on board but lost the goodwill from bad business decisions (size limit, submission process, payment, etc.). Hopefully for them they haven't burned too many bridges.

It's like all they originally had was a tablet, then realised at the last minute they probably need sticks and buttons, and threw them on the sides.
Those I've spoken to who went to E3 2011 said it was quite comfortable to hold, which I expect as Nintendo makes comfy controllers. But christ, that button placement. It looks so bad and awkward. And no matter how many people tell me the pads feel different to the 3DS, I cant have faith in them. Not until I try it for myself, and am sold on pads over sticks. It's seriously the most bafflingly unappealing Nintendo controller I've ever seen. And I like the touch pad / screen concept. But all I think when I see that is "god I hope all the good Wii U games use the superior and wonderful Wii Remote + Nunchuck". Formally, with a name, yes. But "a new Smash Bros. will come to the Nintendo Wii" was announced before development had begun, and before Nintendo had secured Sakurai. |

Cranky. Very cranky.
Rather sarcastic to boot. (04-29-2012, 03:16 AM)

the worst thing about the pad is the design of the sliders themselves. tiny little nubs that have a sharp grip instead of the smooth one that's on the 3ds. also i want lots of support for the cc pro or wii remote + nunchuck when available. |

And everyone please stop talking about the slider pads. I don't want to have to repost the same thing I do every time this is brought up, but I will when provoked.

no, i mean the slider pads have this concave design, like the 3ds's slider pads, but the edges of them have this additional grip (the same sort of thing that's on the nunchuck analog stick). it makes the slider pads feel like they have sharp edges.
