Microsoft expands network of TV-like ads on Xbox Live

Microsoft revealed on Tuesday that it has expanded its lineup of advertising partners on Xbox Live, and will distribute even more TV-like ad spots across the various media apps on the platform. Xbox Live media apps such as ESPN, Last.fm, Manga Entertainment, GameSpot, and MUZU.TV will now include 15 to 30 second video ad spots. These partners join companies like UFC, TMZ, and Crackle, which have offered these video ads since December. Microsoft first introduced these TV-like advertisements with last year's major dashboard update, as part of a larger initiative to grow the Xbox 360 platform from a games console into a full-blown entertainment hub. According to Microsoft, that plan is working so far, as entertainment app usage has doubled year over year for Xbox Live Gold members in the U.S. This trend toward multimedia entertainment has also coincided with an increase in ad revenue for Microsoft, as ad spending on Xbox Live has increased by 142 percent since 2010.

On a semi-related note, based on what we've seen, I'm guessing we'll see more first person cinematics in the campaign. Can't wait to see some of those, I like the little bits of that in Reach.

I play BF3 on PC and it feels more like Halo then it does R6. Guys take a whole clip half the time to die, i mean come on... They super soldiers or just soldiers? I enjoy it maybe 50% of the time. Sometimes i love it, other times i cant stand it.

Only gun I've bothered using is Gears is the Retro Lancer. I don't understand why anyone would use the regular lancer compared to it. Fire in 2 shot bursts or single fire, it has a very short kill time. I suck at third person shooters, but I mop up with that thing.

Fez is great too, and a very special game, but its insane amount of impossible puzzles and secrets you would never figure out by yourself kinda ruin a bit of the enjoyment, you constantly feel like you're missing out on a lot of the game and reading the solutions on the internet feels shitty.
