Either I made up lies about the Boston Bomber or I fell for someone else's crap. Either way, I have absolutely no credibility and you should never pay any attention to anything I say, no matter what the context. Perm me if I claim to be an insider

Drag? Doesn't drag mean that it is strictly a dressup thing? This is talking like they are actually implanted in his body. If so, does this mean he dresses as a dude with giant tits during the day? If that's the case, then fuck yes this is a problem. Do you think if I walked through an airport with giant ass titties I wouldn't get questioned? And do you think I could just be like, "Oh hey, don't mind these things they are just my titties under this shirt."?
Then if I'm wrong and they aren't implanted, they are big ass bags of liquid which exceeds the legal limit to carry on a plane, right? The fuck is going on? |

The double standard is that women can wear "big ass bags of liquid" in their bras and be allowed onto a plane, but he can't bring them on in a carry-on. Anyway, the liquid limit is a fucking stupid rule anyway that anyone halfway intelligent could circumvent if they wanted to sneak something dangerous onboard |

I see. I didn't catch the whole double standard thing as I was obviously caught up in a tizzy over a dude with titties. |

With that said, while there are real and substantial differences there that cannot be minimized gender non-conformity in various forms is often associated under the broad trans spectrum whether it is proper to do so in an absolute sense or not. In any case a poster using the word "tranny" as a descriptor is wholly offensive while using a more neutral term like trans would merely be inaccurate in this case. |

Just because someone wasn't banned for a specific post doesn't mean it isn't ban worthy, it might well mean a mod simply didn't see it. |

Thanks for clarification there Kabouter! I wasn't aware though so I apologize for the ignorance. Unfortunately, I felt that way as I've seen it occur on numerous occasions throughout my stay here at Gaf.

I would say more yes than no. Pretty much the only similarity is that they challenge gender roles. Transexualism is something a person is born with due to a quirk during the reproductive process and transexuals identify themselves as the opposite sex. Transvestites dress as the opposite sex but identify as their biological gender. They do it for fun, because it gives them a thrill, challenge, etc. I don't think there are biological reasons for it, more of a behavioral environmental thing.
That said, they both deserve respect. |
