Finished Mirai Nikki. Overall, I really enjoyed it. The ending isn't as terrible as I was expecting it to be, but it is lacking. The whole parallel worlds thing removed a lot of the weight from the story. Really would have preferred an infinite loop ending, where Yuno repeatedly goes back in time to experience the survival game with Yukki. I suppose that still implies the parallel worlds, though. Also, psycho Yuno is best Yuno. I want nothing to do with docile, normal Yuno.

At a certain point, I was kind of expecting a Catherine-esque ending, wherein Yuno turned out to be a succubus or some other form of demon. The plot is very reminiscent of Devil Survivor 2, or rather, DS2 is much like Mirai Nikki.

Anyone care to explain the difference between the anime ending and the manga ending?

Edit: Also, I haven't looked yet, but I imagine that TV Tropes had an absolute field day with this series.

Anyway, I'll find the actual number as soon as the Oricon weekly rankings go public.
I've looked at the daily rankings and, although there's no sales figures, it looks to be heading for around number 5 in the weekly charts so it should have sold more than all of the other anime singles this week (although I don't know how many of those sales will have been for Playball, which is a pretty good song in its own right).

Kanno's on a roll - last week her SMAP single was number 1!

The manga ending has an extra scene, in which Yuno and Deus seemingly break reality with a hammer or whatever and reach hikikomori Yuki and everyone but the reader gets a happy ending.

Edit: Dammit.

the disparity between manga sales and anime is huge, like for example you would see Giant killing manga do 201,722 in it's first week but when it comes to the anime it bombs, another example chihayafaru manga sales well but the anime megabombs.

anime sales are more in line with light nove sales were stuff like infinite stratos is king.

Well, Cure Sunshine still has the best transformation in the entire franchise, so it's not really fair to Yayoi.

Already posted? Powerpuff Girls, Aya Hirano Team Up for Song

Quote:
Voice actress Aya Hirano is collaborating with the Powerpuff Girls franchise to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Cartoon Network channel in Japan. The collaboration includes a rock song sung by Hirano titled "Cartoon Rock Gaki!!"

The team up will also include collaborative goods for the new "unit" called PPG+A (Power Puff Girls + Aya Hirano) that will be sold during Hirano's concert tour that kicks off on June 16.

The website for the collaboration is currently streaming a video of Hirano introducing the collaboration and singing the song while an image of the Powerpuff Girls character Blossom is drawn. The lyrics of the song describe how to draw the character.

Other editions of the song and video will feature the Powerpuff Girls characters Bubbles and Buttercup, as well as videos featuring Courage from the series Courage the Cowardly Dog and Bloo from the series Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. The videos will also air daily at random times on the Cartoon Network channel between June and December.

Real talk: the quality of Nichibros is overblown. It's a decent but enjoyable comedy that doesn't really have a lot to offer outside of a few good moments each episode. It isn't really surprising that people wouldn't want to own it.

I'm guessing for most part it'll be an episode focused one guy.
But, damn, if anything this episode did nothing but made me warm up to Ittoki. It was a pretty good episode, I liked the song at the end, and at least the female lead isn't annoying.

Being an idol can kill you.
Man, that was a ridiculously fun episode. I guess when the drama isn't really drama, it becomes much more fun to watch and there's less time spent on boys sulking around. It was pretty fun to see Syo pretty much traumatized over and over.

And, our Wakamoto sighting.
She ought to have focused more on Ittoki. Syo was hilarious, I think I do remember that one. They had the better character songs.

Dear lord, am I going to hate typing up impressions for this just based off the title alone.
The manga for it makes it seem really compelling or at least with some action. Characters actually all look pretty cool. And main character, well she is interesting. (well just the three I read)
