More Halo, yawn. Looks just like Reach, which looked just like Halo 3, which looked just like 2, which looked just like CE.
Looks fantastic, cannot wait. Master Chief looks great and I'm finally just beginning to warm up to the Spartan IV designs. Also Cortana is looking more naked than ever, hence the carful framing in her two screenshots. :P |

Visuals in 4 are looking damn nice. Elites face looks busted though. |

Ho you're absolutely right. I was reffering to the mood of the backgrounds, and some funny things like the stripes and pattern on the suits.

You should look into ODST though. Great experience. |

So levels like The Covenant are shit but the last level was entertaining? talk about weird opinions.
All the Halo 3 levels besides the last two were amazing...some of them are easily some of the best levels in the franchise. |

Technically speaking, it looks great. Art-wise, I'm having mixed feelings about it. The environments look spectacular. The characters leave me much less impressed (bar Cortana, the detailing is lovely).
I've become less and less a fan of each new revision of the armor Master Chief operates in, it becomes increasingly elaborate and increasingly more divergent from the starting philosophies: big, angular battle tank sensibilities. The Mark V was simple, yes, but it was distinctive. The armor keeps getting busier, more sleek, and less angular, and ultimately more and more like any other piece of space marine kit. As for the Grunts and Elites, more mixed feelings. I love the detailing and the shaping of the armor, but something smells a bit off. No nosecaps for the Grunts, presumably no distorted voices, and ever-present piranha smiles. It's a change I'd have to see in action to fully gauge whether it sits right with me or not, but it kinda hints at a shift away from a corner I thought was perfectly adequate regardless of the tone the game was going for. The Elites, I'm not sure exactly what bothers me about them, but it's nagging at me nonetheless. Something to do with the skin and eyes, clammy, dull? |

The new chief design of the chief is my favourite yet. It doesn't compromise the aspects of the suit we've come to associate with his design, but it looks less like he's wearing a big metal outerspace onesie and more like he's wearing a functional suit of armour.
also, the grunts do have nosecaps in some of the gameinformer screenshots ^ Loving their design as well. ![]() SO GOOD.

Levels 2-7 were great. Overall Halo 3 is my favorite in the series, I'll never understand the hate.

Halo 3 was a truly great game that despite it's technical shortcomings still plays amazingly good and trumps easily every other FPS on the market in terms of gameplay IMO. |

I too hope though that we're predominately fighting new enemies, but having grunts and elites as a part of a new "covenant" of enemies works fine for me. On another point, do you guys think the forward unto dawn level will be the E3 presentation, or we're going to get a level from requiem featuring the new enemy? (I'm thinking a little of both, maybe the very end of forward unto dawn when the chief crashes and then his initial exploration of requiem and his first encounter with the forerunner) |

Halo Reach H1 H2 up to the 2nd level ODST Rest of Halo 2 Halo 3 Which might get a bit complicated and flow breaking so I'd say play them in release order. |

Reach can be played whenever, it does not really matter that much. edit: or what Gui said :) |
