Call me a noob, since I am. But I'm looking to get into the online gaming world versus just my console... I'm hearing about this game, League of Legends, WoW (obviously) and so many other games. I used to play Diablo and Ragnarok... any fabulous reasons/opinions on why I should play this one?

I have to build my computer first before I can begin... but nonetheless, when I get it, I wanna start on something right away.

Dota is the most viciously rewarding competitive team game on the PC. Huge skill cap. Insanely fun. Will also make you want to tear your face off at times.

How many heroes does Valve want in by the time the International is here? I want to see 2-3 heroes weekly, lmao.

They're definitely pushing up the number of heroes we've been getting lately ever since Treant. They really really really want a large pool of heroes for TI2. I wouldn't be surprised if we had everything except for like, Legion Commander, Goblin Shredder, Ember Spirit, Phoenix, Pit Lord, and Techies. And a few others too, maybe no Troll or Slark.

There was something at some point about aiming for 5-10 left by the time the international happens but who knows if that was in reference to the full pool or just the cm pool so whatever.

I'm so looking forward to seeing Wisp in some competitive games. Watching Sing Sing on stream playing one now and it's very tactical in how you're forced into teamwork to be at your fullest potential. Luna should be an interesting one to watch too if she gets picked over others.

Luna hasnt been a tourney pick since see got wrecked by the nerf bat years ago.

Pit Lord and Phoenix have remakes incoming. The other 4 are new. Also Lycan and CK will get nerfed in the next patch I'm guessing. Heroes that are problems in Dota 2 have been the few heroes nerfed in the latest patches (AM, Invoker, Dark Seer)

This 7king game! Story time!

After two crushing losses my crew are rewarded with a fabulous match. It starts off like ass with me (sand king) and a pa having to soak up drow arrows for several minutes since she has good jungle support and we can't get a kill on her.

I finally hit 7 or 8 and their furion is doing his crazy split push and we lose most every outer tower while only claiming two of theirs. They push up and take our top t3 but not before we pull off an awesome team fight that saves the rax and lets me pick up blink. After that its a series of tense exchanges poking out into our jungle and worrying about top lane, until we finally wipe out 4 of them without a loss in mid after I'm able to get a great Epi off and our Ursa wrecks faces.

We manage to push straight through and claim their mid rax but gd prophet is at it again and we barely lose our top rax after a quick buy back. So we're both dancing and trying to keep back a lane of super creeps while looking for some kind of initiation. We manage to barely squeak out some team fights but we just don't have enough to push through the gg and they still have t2s so we can't double rax.

They sneak in a Rosh but we're able to catch out furion while he's trying to split push bot and force the fight leaving only their veno against me and two others. We finally get to push straight through mid and claim the win.

Such a good feeling to pull off a match like that.

I gotta play sand king more often. I don't think I have the chain epi->blink->burrow just right yet. Am I supposed to shift click the blink dagger on the inventory hot key? Or the click for the blink destination? Either way it's tons of fun to get off, even if your just going burrow stun to epi.

Anyone have any tips on early game harassment as a support? Physical attacks draw creep aggro but also can't spam spells because of mana requirements. Was shadow shaman with riki up against a drow/slardar combo and just got dominated with drow constantly harassing with ice arrows unable to do anything in the lane (couldn't get close enough to harass or if I did would just start ice arrow then slardar crush and I'd die).

Send shammy mid: Use lightning to push the creeps to their tower, grab the rune while the opposition is dealing with the creeps, then go shackle one of the lanes for a cheap and easy kill. Long answer: Some people don't work well together and it sounds like you got out picked/played.

Just got into Beta couple of days ago and put in some time in the game yesterday. Picked Lich because apparently he's noob friendly and got a very basic hang of the combat and my hero's abilities.

The shop on the other hand is the most daunting thing I've seen. The thing is HUGE and once I've bought boots, so healing potion and couple of TPs I don't know what to do with my 4-5k gold.

Even though the game has a higher entry wall (even by competitive gaming standards) I'm still enjoying my time, about to go in again and try to figure out what the other %75 of the UI even mean.

Just buy the recommended items for now. Look up some guides and ask some other players for tips and you'll be fine. Do your best to ignore the hate and just report the flamers.

Drag and drop the recommended items into the quick buy box and it will break it down into components. Also good to see you're buying TPs but make sure you buy observer wards as Lich.
