I just got in and I've been staring at the menus for about 10 minutes utterly terrified to do anything.

Me and 2 friends are getting ready to start a game versus bots if you want in.

command queuing, what's it good for?

A few things. Amongst them are to perform events very quickly after something is being channeled.

For instance, blinking/burrow striking after Sand King's ult. Sure, you can do it manually and achieve the same effect. However if you queue another action directly after the ult, you can mitigate the chances of screwing it up or missing out on damage. Another instance would be to queue up a move after porting to a tower/unit. You don't want to break the porting channel, but you want to attack the creep wave or move just after you arrive so you queue up an action while it channels.

You can also queue up specific places while you move to act like waypoints if you want to follow a specific path.

Man they really have to do something with alchemist. I honestly never win when one is on my team. He's such a terrible hero, I just have this feeling of dread whenever one is random'd or picked in my games.

It's unfair to outfarm the enemy team with the alchemist on your team and still lose.

So I was in a game earlier where someone argued with me that killing one of Brewmaster's spirits when he does his ult completely kills him. I told him he had it backwards. Then he said "Well, unless they've changed it..." Did it used to be that way in Dota 1 or something? Someone with knowledge of past patches fill me in on this.

I don't believe so, but don't quote me on that. You could try typing it in and see if that works. It just autoloads for me now that I've added it though.

Man, had a couple of games where things just weren't clicking. Decided to play one more round as Nightstalker. We proceeded to kick sweet, delicious ass. The_Player, you may have some peculiar tastes, but I'm definitely beginning to understand your love for Enchantress. Those Impetus shots were just wrecking face.

(Although it was a slightly hollow victory since we were facing a team of all carries. But I'll take whatever I can. They had Ursa so it was fair game.)

Patched a while ago so invokers couldn't OOV cold snap the shit out of people. But lvl 1 rot does more dmg then 10 so cold snap will proc.

While we're on rot: Rot does full damage to enemies while only do about a third damage to yourself if you keep spamming it. Someone on reddit posted about it (a citation would be great) and i don't recall it being fixed on the patch notes.

Yes. Some people seem to not know that mute also works for text chat. (click on their speaker icon in the scoreboard to mute them) It's very helpful in games with douchebags.
