Yep CWM is a really good support, I'm glad that he gets to play the role he should play in mouz too, seems to working out really really well.

Cyborgmatt posted a few changes you can make to the hero picker. The legacy mode looks pretty useful/familiar(even if it's stretching over chat).

Actually I take back what I said about the dashboard. Aesthetically, it is gorgeous, but it is a huge step back functionally. It looks more like BNet 2 now which isn't a good thing.

I disagree. This UI has the potential to have more functionality and content once they get the web content finished. Viewable hero guides, tournament pages, ect in both the dashboard and website.

So, I'm having a bit of trouble understanding the benefit of the scepter on Ogre Magi. If it simply swaps fireblast with unrefined fireblast, which deals the same damage as rank 4 of fireblast anyways, then why would you ever grab it? Doesn't multicast proc the current level of your skill?

It doesn't replace Fireblast, but gives you another one.

OOOHH, so you can burst by going fireblast that procs multicast, ANOTHER fireblast that procs multicast, meaning you can do an 5 or 6 hit combo with fireblasts on one person, or just burst down two people.

Both will proc your ultimate. So you should be mowing down people if you get a bunch of multi cast.

Quantic seems like a good bet skill-wise. Haven't they been doing rather well in alot of tournaments lately? But they might not be considered due to just getting the sponsorship not long ago.

These would be the most reasonable for the European fan base... The problem is that you miss out teams like MiTH.Trust/MUFC/Mineski which could be important for SEA.
Especially not sending a pinoy team would be akin to removing bottle crowing from Dota, it would be very harsh on them and could potentially hurt the interest in Dota 2 there.

But the Chinese wouldn't feel at home with a Dota without LGDs 3 hour and 94 minute games of turtling

Watch some old DTS vods, they are fucking insane. Extremely fun to watch and a very individual skill levels.
With ArtStyle it's even better, he likes those weird hero picks too which didn't work out too well with some of the players with more conservative playstyles (NS would be a good example, still one of the best traditional supports in Dota ever)

Yeah, I didn't think about their current roster. There older roster iterations haven't been able to pump out anything impressive. Any vods of new Darer? Haven't seen them with their DTS members.

IIRC I found this game to be kinda impressive, was one of their first games with the new roster. While they made some mistakes at times they showed very good team coordination and they also picked some of my favorite heroes :p (though nothing insane like the Clinkz which DTS brought back alive in competitive play)

Darer vs. Virtus.pro

Otherwise you can search for vods here

aL has been underperforming lately, but there is no doubt that they were very good at their best
I heard they were gonna bootcamp in the US for a couple of weeks before, and after that and with better pings, who knows how they're gonna perform!
(this is also a reason I would have wanted to see next.kz going...)

Yeah, I agree with this. I'm not really feeling the LGD invite. I can't recall seeing them in any Dota 2 tournaments and it seems they already had the top three Chinese teams. I would have much preferred Next.kz.

Haven't been a huge Darer fan either. Hopefully Mouz and mtw get the final slots.

coL, iG and lgd all scream of a marketing decision and not performance, though the IV2 is a marketing event so I guess that's the point. Pushes those Chinese teams to get into Dota 2. Last two spots I would think end up being Mouz and Quantic. Hopefully Duskbin makes it in through the East Qualifiers. West Qualifiers should be good, MTW, next.kz, VP, Infused, M5 and a host of others.

coL a marketing decision? What the hell are you talking about? They have a 79% winrate, second only to Na'Vi in the euro/na scene. They've had some bad points, but are definitely a stable top level team.

iG and LGD are the two best DOTA1 teams after DK, and yes those three are all a bit new to DOTA2, but they are stable rosters and big name teams so they have plenty of time to bootcamp in order to get used to the engine and practice strategies, instead of having to spend all the time just building up trust and team chemistry.

Honestly I'd say Darer getting an invite is the biggest insult to the competetive dota scene. They're just cannibalizing other teams and playing incredibly inconsistently. Its pretty much Artstyle + G and then if the new players don't work we'll just grab up people from some other team.

Quantic is the last stable and high performing team left, so I would be surprised if they don't get an invite. mTw and Mouz have returned to form with their new rosters so I would love to see either of them in as well.

The only problem right now is if the qualifiers are really one euro and one asia, pretty much all the asian teams that should be invited are in, whereas there are easily 4 more strong teams to come in from the Euro/NA scene.

Nah, they are still WAY behind. Radiance this early on druid is dangerous.

Edit: And thats why. No way EG should have won with that initiation from Darer, but EG is so far ahead that they could; QOP had buyback, Druid had radiance and enough health to just survive.

ugh, just tested this. I can't get over how bad the new avatars look like. What happened to texture quality? If this is an indication due Free-2-Play, then bring me a normal, high-quality 59.99$ game instead.

ugh, why they trimmed Earthshaker's polycount? I thought everything was good, but they keep lowering it even more now.

The texture quality is the result of dozens of new portraits for a single patch. Some of the new ones(Tinker) look fantastic while others don't. Rendering high quality assets for heroes can take time and I doubt they wanted to spend a lot of it rendering brand new high quality portraits that may change later for this particular patch.

Also, ES's old portrait had some of the worst textures. The new one obviously isn't any better, but that will change when more patches come out.
