Cool. I am browsing on my iPad and prefer the desktop site on it. I was annoyed to find I was mandatorily redirected to the mobile site. Glad that isn't the way it's intended.

I secretly hope this forced mobile version for iPad users will get them to see the light (and stick with it). It's an infinitely better iPad browsing experience than the desktop version. :p

Agreed I hated how the scrolling and zooming worked on the iPad with the desktop site

If I may make a suggestion I would like it to where blue bars always visible so It is easier to move to the next/previous page. Also the post button is not visible on the iPad whenever you have the keyboard on screen.

Using the 3DS browser ... secondapps worked perfectly on it, so I'm assuming there's just something in need of tweaking...

Yeah, just in case anyone was having trouble finding it, the link to switch from prime to mobile appears at the bottom of every page, more or less, but the link to switch from mobile to prime appears only on the front page, not quite all the way to the bottom.

Because it allows for faster navigation and skimming! Via manual scrolling, I can access more information quicker on the desktop page than I can the mobile one. I love the desktop site on my iPhone <3

Ability to zoom... Basically kills everything... I zoom out as far as I can on iPhone and iPad and can read everything at that level. For screenshots, too important (yes I know you can tap it and It opens up another tab (bad) and takes me out of context (bad) and for navigating a page with lots of pictures... Pinch then scroll on desktop... Or scrollllllll scrollllllll scrolllllll on mobile

Can't view announcements on mobile site

No way to preview a post

Can't properly view posting history of members from their profile (have to navigate menus and enter in data... Booo)

Ability to see previous posts when replying to a thread

Not being able to see if a thread has been viewed or if there is new posts (nevermind, it wasn't working for me for some reason)

The mobile site doesn't show me the time in which I viewed the page... You laugh but it's more important to me than you know :)

Now for things I find irritating:

Swapping from forum to forum takes two or 3 taps (including slight loading of the pane) instead of one or two - time is everything.

The font size is too large... At smallest font size, I can see a maximum of 20 threads (16 if you need thread details) vs 32 for desktop

Ability to jump from say... Page 7 to 5... On desktop... No biggie. One tap. (or two if in middle of thread) On mobile? Either hit tap top bar, previous page, Tap top bar, tap previous page... Or tap top bar, tap go to page, tap number, Hit 'go'

And the name bars... Gah!! Even at smallest font, I see less posts in a thread but see smaller avatars too... It's so jarring... It's larger but smaller

Usability is kind of important to me.... :p

I'm checking in from my couch. I tried it on my 3DS and saw the same problen but I am completely perplexed with what's happening. It's as if the 3DS browser is altering the links and removing the thread id and only the thread ids from just those buttons.

I KNOW the site is outputing the correct HTML because it works everywhere else. The pagenation buttons work fine on other screens and it's the SAME EXACT CODE! Crazy. Any othe web devs seen this happen on 3DS before because I'm at a loss.

wow, then I have to say, sir ckohler, you are fucking awesome. this page is sexy. I love the "menu" key at the top right which opens the drop down menu. It's really nice you can actually go from gaming -> off topic - > gaming community without having to go back to the main page.

The only thing I would ask for is to show recent posts in the thread on the reply screen.

Also, embedded videos are very small on the iPad but it's not too big of a deal I suppose... Since I could just expand them.
