Ah hell, now I'm in. Can't wait to go exploring. That's the best part about that article. In most MMO's, the world really isn't there other than to dictate which enemies you see in a particular area because all you do is go back to town, get a quest, set off and do that quest and then repeat that over and over again. The idea of exploring the world and having time to look around is refreshing. I mean, you could do that in other MMO's and just run around trying to level up with no real quest, but when you play with a group of people who just want to grind through shit, it's hard.

OT, but Reddit has to be the worst community I've ever seen(not just GW2 community, that still goes to Guru). Was looking at the GW2 stories from yesterday and on one of the comment threads someone was actually trying to make it out like the overflow server was a bad thing. Their argument was they have better things to do for 10-20 minutes than play a game without their friends. But the overflow server is there for the people that have no time to sit and wait. How is it that having the option to play the game instead of waiting in a queue is a bad thing in any way?

That and the constant downvoting and trolling from other subreddits. I feel bad for whoever made the thread a few days ago about GAF needing a voting system on posts.

Honestly, in comparison GAF isn't any different with their range of people. We have our die-hard fanboy for every reasonable post most of the time (just pop into any Versus thread haha). But having 20m unique visitors each month and growing can really bring out the worst. I always find the bigger the community, the worst extremes you will see.

Luckily the mods (for the most part) are pretty good around here, that's something that only the smaller subreddits have.

If I didn't play the GW1 trial recently I probably would've saved myself a lot of trouble. I was losing track of how many accounts I seemed to have, and what was linked to what, and what had a password for what, etc etc etc. and even still, my master account and game account have different passwords, so it's still a bit ass backwards. I've been spoiled by things like Steam and battle.net and whatnot. Everything all under one roof.

Then I read Jira's megapost and solved my query. I still didn't get an email, but everything seems good to go regardless.

So yeah, now I'm back to being incredibly hyped for tomorrow! I was off work Monday and Tuesday because I was sick, I kinda with it was delayed a few days so I could've had tomorrow off :p

I visited Guru since the developers posted there but oh man the heavy censorship (deleting comments and threads) anything that was critique or something negative towards anet is attacked by the community and the mobs. A paradise for Fanboys. Not interested in going to there website or the Gw2 server they are going to, same goes for Redit.

Yeah, when Chelmo first posted the GW2 threads I started reading it on reddit also and it has gone for the most part downhill. It would be like if we had separate Sony, MS, and Nintendo sections on GAF ... it breaks up the community and really attributes to mob mentality when going to a different section. Luckily it's not so bad I have to avoid it but the lack of moderation can really ruin a good community.

Agree completely. Mob mentality is definitely strong there. Glad I have only gone there for GW2 so I am not too invested.

There are retarded threads everywhere, I only lurk on the GW2 subreddit, but most of it is pretty standard. There are people who make neat wallpapers and share them, and some of the discussions are decent. It's also a good way to see new trailers or videos from various sources all in one place.

Doubtful. Each BWE will have different builds and they will be wanting us to actually test the stuff. So I can't see them letting us keep characters when they would rather us start new ones each time.

The sad thing is constructive things will get edited out if they skew on a negative side. But completely unwarranted whining just goes on and on forever. They will pick the smallest thing and whine about it for multiple threads with no real justification.
