DICE for Mirror's Edge (known for Battlefield)
Raven Software for Singularity (known for Hexen/Heretic, Soldier of Fortune) Camelot for Golden Sun (known for Shining series) Treasure for Sin & Punishment (known for Gunstar Heroes, Guardian Heroes, Ikaruga) Kojima Productions for Boktai and Snatcher (known for Metal Gear) not to say I don't like their other games but these take the cake for me |

From Software.
At least in the west they are now known mostly for the Souls series, and I couldn't careless about those games. ACE 1/2/3 however are fucking amazing (1 Doesn't hold up after the awesome improvements of 2 and 3 though) and if they can somehow make a game on that level and not the awful R/Portable it would likely be my favorite game this gen. |

All of their franchises are pretty damn popular, so I don't know if this counts, but I'm a pretty big fan of Valve despite not really liking Half-Life. Half-Life 2 especially has always been kinda boring to me.
But I love Left 4 Dead, Portal, Counter-Strike, etc. |

100% this, the best game they have ever made.
From Software - Otogi Edit: Crystal Dynamics - Soul Reaver. I think Legacy of Kain series has already been mentioned but I just love this game so much in particular.

Codemasters for the Dizzy-franchise. :)
I also used to like Raven Software when they made their own games, like Black Crypt, but stopped liking their games when they became ID's port-slaves, and started using ID's tools. I also liked Dice's Pinball Fantasies and Deluxe, but not any of their newer stuff.

That's what I know Kojima for; I haven't even played any other games from him. |

Arc System Works - Hard Corps: Uprising - They should do more 2D non-fighting games.
Namco Bandai - Tales and Xenosaga (RIP) Konami (well before) - Silent Hill and Suikoden |

Hell, I was going to post this. D:
Also, if DEAD developers are a good choice... Everyone apparently remembers and loves Microprose for Civilization or their flight simulators, but, even enjoying those, their best game for me was this babe:

And like others said, DICE for Mirror's Edge. Have no interest in the Battlefield series whatsoever, it looks like the posterboy for everything I hate about this gen. But Mirror's Edge will go down in the records as a classic. And finally, RARE for Snake Rattle 'N Roll and the Wizards and Warriors games. Their N64 lineup never really appealed much to me as most people, nor did I particularly care for the DKC trilogy. |

DICE, not for Battlefield, not for Mirror's Edge, but for Pinball Fantasies, Pinball Dreams and Pinball Illusions. Many childhood hours were spent playing those.
Enix for Bust a Groove 1 & 2. Capcom for Shu Takumi's games (Ace Attorney, Ghost Trick) and nothing more.

Though in my case it'd be Kojima for Snatcher and ZOE2, to be specific. |
