Eh, I'd rather have pathos, poorly executed as it might be, than a ridiculous fight anime. That's what Dragon Ball Z was for.

At first I didn't know what to think about The Big O. It first aired on the Toonami block, but even after watching the first episode I wasn't very impressed. It was anime, but it looked incredibly stylized (I hadn't realized at the time that it was mimicking the look of Batman The Animated Series, themes and all). Anyway, weeks go by and I miss a boatload of episodes. And then, by chance I catch Episode 12 in progress: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Myh07ybceU It clicked. This... was awesome. The music, the staging, the voice acting. I wanted to see more. The next episode ended in a cliffhanger but then they aired repeats. I watched them all, mesmorized. And I watied with bated breath when Season 2 was announced. The ending was pretty bad, but all in all I'm happy to have known (and followed) its existence. My God, that soundtrack was amazing.

I think one of the most impressive parts of that clip is that they almost never say the characters' names.

Also, G Gundam was awesome as hell. Haters step the fuck back.

Big O was a fantastic watch. The setting is easily my favorite aspect of the show. I loved the muted color palette, the way characters bounce off each other, the mystique of everything, and the weight to the mechs. Just an extremely entertaining and enjoyable series to watch, in my opinion.

By making them complete idiots? Yeah Lady Une will believe that you, this new military outfit is nice and better and well take note but brush aside that you are using the colonies to make weapons even though thats a problem. All because you are nice and let your hair down.

And this is'nt even the first time, the colonies haven't been seen as the bad guys. F91 presents colonists as the heros fighting another group of Nobel colonosists. So does Victory.

Really Trieze is the only character who seems to have real motive and personality in his character. Every thing else in Wing is god awful. It makes no damn sense in any of it's actions. Its characters don't actually behave like people or anything relatable. The entire plot and characters in this show seem to serve as basically symbols of ideals the show constantly tries to berate you with. It's just shit.

At least G Gundam is a fun show with actual good and entertaining characters. An actual good Gundam show.
