sorry seriously gundam wing is pretty shit. G Gundam is what you are suppose to watch, it took the ridiculous nature of the show x1000. Even though I'm still not a fan of it. Also Endless Waltz> TV show.

G Gundam was a fucking war crime. I can't see what was shit about Wing. It had interesting, complicated characters (for shonen) and I was totally in love with the idea of flipping the script and making the colonies the sympathetic outfit as opposed to Earth.

I'm fully willing to accept that as a possibility. All I know is that as a 12 year old boy it was the shit so whether or not it aged well, it accomplished it's goal.

The characters are dumb as fuck. They repeat the exact same words more than Naruto repeated Believe it. The only character that you can even say who was complicated was Heero, that's it. Everybody else? Hell no, paper thing as fuck. You can feel like it accomplished the goal of entertaining you when you were 12, but that doesn't make it less shit really.

I've seen plenty of stuff I thought was good when I was younger, that's why I generally go back to see if it was because I thought everything was cool or it was actually a really good show.

G Gundam did everything Wing did but even better. It's like they looked at the mistakes Wing made. I don't understand how you can call it a war crime at all, but talk about not seeing what is shit about Wing.

Eh, I'd rather have pathos, poorly executed as it might be, than a ridiculous fight anime. That's what Dragon Ball Z was for.

Anyway, weeks go by and I miss a boatload of episodes. And then, by chance I catch Episode 12 in progress:

It clicked. This... was awesome. The music, the staging, the voice acting. I wanted to see more. The next episode ended in a cliffhanger but then they aired repeats. I watched them all, mesmorized. And I watied with bated breath when Season 2 was announced. The ending was pretty bad, but all in all I'm happy to have known (and followed) its existence.

My God, that soundtrack was amazing.
I think one of the most impressive parts of that clip is that they almost never say the characters' names.

Also, G Gundam was awesome as hell. Haters step the fuck back.

Which gundam series forgoes "deep characters" and philosophical monologues for balls to the wall action and gundams murdering the fuck out of shit and or having a really evil 1 dimensional madman (possibly with very feminine tendencies) for a villain. Any gundams like that??

Wing is definitely not the best gundam out there but I'll tell you what, out of the tame run of shows that aired when I was young it handily beat the pants off of DBZ, that's for sure.

Seriously though, Paranoia Agent, FLCL, Bebop, Planetes, etc.

08th MS Team is the best Gundam, btw. In case you all were wondering.

I suppose I can at least agree with that. I even got tired of DBZ when I was a child once Vegita died in Boo saga. I couldn't handle how the writers were treating him.

First season was far superior to the second one. Watching the opening episode on the April Fools Toonami Block reminded me of that. If they do bring Toonami back I hope they can get the right again to show the first season in it's entirety.

Stuff you should watch:
Giant Robo: The Day the Earth Stood Still
Getter Robo Armageddon (it doesn't get more hot blooded than this really, not even Gurren Lagann)

Also, both shows are shorter (GR is 7 50 minute episodes and GRA is 13 20 minute) so they won't consume a lot of your time. And both shows are some of the best anime out there.

Big O was a fantastic watch. The setting is easily my favorite aspect of the show. I loved the muted color palette, the way characters bounce off each other, the mystique of everything, and the weight to the mechs. Just an extremely entertaining and enjoyable series to watch, in my opinion.

Sorry you didn't feel the same way, Devo.

By making them complete idiots? Yeah Lady Une will believe that you, this new military outfit is nice and better and well take note but brush aside that you are using the colonies to make weapons even though thats a problem. All because you are nice and let your hair down.

And this is'nt even the first time, the colonies haven't been seen as the bad guys. F91 presents colonists as the heros fighting another group of Nobel colonosists. So does Victory.

Deep characters. The characters are so brainless shit stupid in Wing. The Gundam poilots seems to be nothing but suicidal and one note?

Whats deep about Herro? I get it, he's a kid soldier scared by.......what exactly. We don't actually see why at all. He's just a machine who acts dumb for no real reason. Even if he was scared by war, we wouldn't act they way he does.

Wufie is an annoying idiot. Please tell me whats deep about him.

Releana is shitty. I'm tired of this robot girl talking about pacifism. Whats deep and interesting about her? All she does is talk about Pacifism and how it can work, yet it never does. All she does is basically attempt to stop people from fighting yet all of her actions never work. What is her goddamn point?

Trowa...lol

Quatro.....lol

Really Trieze is the only character who seems to have real motive and personality in his character. Every thing else in Wing is god awful. It makes no damn sense in any of it's actions. Its characters don't actually behave like people or anything relatable. The entire plot and characters in this show seem to serve as basically symbols of ideals the show constantly tries to berate you with. It's just shit.

At least G Gundam is a fun show with actual good and entertaining characters. An actual good Gundam show.
