I was lucky enough to stumble upon NextGen magazine and was the only one I got a subscription for. I never liked most gaming magazines, even as a kid I was put off by all the hype and sometimes goofy writing. NextGen wrote well and had good articles. Only other magazine I respected was EGM.

A lot of Dutch gamers grew up with this
![]() Pretty much the only mag at the time that was any good. I eventually grew out of it (the mag still exists) and started reading the English/US mags (EDGE, EGM), for which I paid way way way too much in Dutch magazine stores. |
