PC Gamer (US). So much better than anything else... Nintendo Power would get second, though, probably, but not too close a second place.

Official Sega Saturn magazine. Demo disc glued to the cover, the first disk of Panzer Dragoon Saga and Christmas Nights.

I was lucky enough to stumble upon NextGen magazine and was the only one I got a subscription for. I never liked most gaming magazines, even as a kid I was put off by all the hype and sometimes goofy writing. NextGen wrote well and had good articles. Only other magazine I respected was EGM.

A lot of Dutch gamers grew up with this

Pretty much the only mag at the time that was any good. I eventually grew out of it (the mag still exists) and started reading the English/US mags (EDGE, EGM), for which I paid way way way too much in Dutch magazine stores.

A 6.5. Bjorn got a lot of shit over it during the following years, haha.

Graphics: 7
Sound: 6.5

Pro:
Battle mode is fun

Con:
Can't be compared to other racing games
Controlling the karts is very difficult

I definitely would've stopped reading after they thought an exclusive review of Duke Nukem Zero Hour was worth caring about.

I remember N64 Magazine. Lived in America, but my Barnes & Nobles imported it along with a couple of other euro mags.

To the question at hand: I was going to say EGM but I mostly got into them in the early 00's, so I'd go with PSM, that was a fun one.

Well there was so many game droughts on N64, especially in Europe, that they had to build hype around whatever was on the horizon!

Plus it was still a better game than Forever ;)
