April 2012 NPD Predictions - Closes May 7
#1
What is it?: NPD is one of the main retail tracking firms in the U.S., and also about the only one who specifically goes into detail on video games sales. This thread is to predict what the NPD hardware sales will be for the most recent month.
What do I win?: Bragging rights. We also keep track of predictions over the year and have an annual contest using "points." Still just bragging rights, but Sales-Agers have fun seeing how well we can do with it. See here for details on the point calculations. Prediction entries must be in and finalized by 8 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 7th. Format use is required if you want your entry counted. NPD Coverage: April 1-28 (4 weeks, March was 5 weeks) NPD Release: May 10th @ 4 p.m. EDT (thread posted ~6:30 p.m. EDT) Format: [360] [3DS] [PS3] [PSV] [WII] Good/Bad Formatting Code:
Good Bad [360] 400K [360] 400 thousand [360] 400,000 [360] 400.000 [360] 400000 [360] - 400000 Potential hardware impacting events in April: Star Wars Kinect 320GB Bundle - $450, April 3 (26 days) March's Results - thanks to Nirolak, Mpl90, and Nintendo

That 205k Vita result is actually from February if i'm not mistaken? Although, i did see some talk in the NPD thread for March that an relieable source said that the Vita was around 200k, so it fits. But, in this article, Pachter says 125k:

PS3: 337k vs 325k 3DS: 240k vs 225k Wii: 175k vs 235k Also, the Vita number was extracted using NPD numbers from this chart: ![]() ~41K per week times five weeks is ~205k |

I see, thanks. I thought they spoke to him recently, especially hence the "citing NPD numbers". |
