blizzard cgi is amazing and a full length movie would be nuts. what are the production costs on something like this? feasible?

It's not the production costs, the Blizz CGI team has said that they won't do a full movie because it would take a decade with their pace.

I watched that part, but I don't see anything there that would indicate how the gameplay requires the models to have a 2005 level of detail, or the art style to be non-realistic. You can have good visibility and foreground/background separation with more detailed assets and art that is closer to the CG trailers as well.

I remember being blown away by that intro cinematic in D2 with Marius. I can't wait for all the cgi in this game. Blizzard is truly on the forefront of cgi in the gaming industry. The Witcher 2 one was awesome but that was outsourced to a famed cgi creator. Blizzard blows me away every time. I know I'll be gushing over HoTs and Titan as well.
