He decided to stick around and fight with those people. He had any number of opportunities to drive off. So yes, he decided to get into a conflict and to participate as it escalated.

He did try to drive off. But he had to roll over a dude to do so. He had also called the cops (which is why he didn't drive off right away) but they took too long to come, most probably because they were busy blocking streets and crap due to the protesters. Downtown Montreal was full of cops that night.

I guess we don't know all the facts but there's a lot of takeaways from that video (ones already made in this thread) that make it seem like these charges are a step ahead. Also, your lack of Benecio confused me! |

I had a shitty experience a few years ago that still pisses me off today. I was sitting in my parked car around midnight, waiting for my girlfriend to finish her night shift and a mob of 8 drunk guys staggered out of a nearby bar and generally staggered down the street, mucking around and shouting. One guy lifted his chunky friend into the air as he walked, staggered over to my parked car and basically threw his fat friend directly onto my car bonnet, causing damage enough to need a new bonnet (deep dents to hell). I beeped my car horn to get them to get off the car but of course the other 6 friends surrounded my car and started kicking (and punching!?!). Getting out of the car wasn't an option so I started up the car and just speed off.
If the two guys had been still stood at the front of the car (instead of coming around to the side to kick the door panels) I'd have no hesitation in running them over. In fact I drove one loop around the streets and I'm not sure what I'd have done if I'd seen them on my second pass through, but I'm glad I couldn't find them. More annoying than all that was the pathetic help from the police. All this happened directly below a CCTV camera which captured it all in full view, but still they couldn't be arsed to do anything about it. So annoying, and expensive to repair (wasn't a cheap car either) |

This situation makes me extremely angry. What the fuck is wrong with that mob? Fuck the guy that was run over. He absolutely deserved it.
Did that asshole survive? I'm sure you'd be completely calm and make sound decisions in that situation.

On the very same street I've seen a mob of ppl beating up some dude and dubstep kids just kicking passing by cars. Montreal at night is filled with fucking rejects of society so a video like that makes my day. Would I have been in the same situation picking up my gf or whatever, I would have done the same.
