Platinum #85 - Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory
Fun and pretty easy platinum. Going through Extreme before Hard really helps prepare you, to a point where you don't even really have to worry about dying less than 5 times. It's a pretty good port though, especially compared to all the other Ubisoft attempts (BG&E, PoP Trilogy and Splinter Cell 1+2), so I'd recommend it. It's still as awesome as it was when it came out and easily the best game in the series. I guess I'll try to wrap up Resistance 3 before getting back into Yakuza: Dead Souls. Then I'll just have Army Corps of Hell, Motorstorm RC, Tales of Graces F and Shadows of the Damned in the backlog (though I'll probably buy Binary Domain on PSN next week thanks to the PS+ discount). |

Will update my Trophy collection by the end of the month. I'll see if my brother's interestedin one of the rewards and have it sent to him in UK. |

Well damn, I didn't even notice there wasn't a level select in the Vita version of Plants vs Zombies, I figured it would be along the lines of the iOS version which lets you pick whatever level you want from the adventure, means having to go through to get to a certain level for a trophy, damn, lol.
Also anyone Platinum Alpha Protocol? I looked through its Trophy Guide and while it doesn't look difficult it does look like it takes a lot of effort sorting out the different choices to make to get certain options for trophies, I'm starting to wish they made literal walkthroughs for certain games where you can look up what you should be aiming for at that exact point. |

Yeah, I think I'm going to have to go back to Gran Pulse to do the one mission to unlock Gilgamesh Inc to get the last weapons I need. Then I think I have 1-2 more accessories that are one-time/mission unlock reward only then the rest are just upgrades and stones. *sigh*

When I looked at Starhawk's list, I was like "yeah, if they didn't fix that loophole it's an easy platinum." |

Finished dead nation on grim last night coop with my brother. Such a good game. Need to do a morbid playthrough now but will probably wait a few months. Shocker gun makes quick work of the army dudes. Nothing else seems to work well apart from the shocker and blade cannon. Love the blade cannon though funnel them all in a corridor and then bam. I unlocked about 5 trophies on it. Not many left but they are mainly golds. Only at 43% Is the dlc worth it?

Man the people who said Trine 2 was an easy platinum weren't joking. I'm only halfway through my playthrough and I already have the platinum. First time that's ever happened for me where I got my plat even before I beat the game (generally because beating the game is almost always a trophy in itself).
Gonna try to get another 100% from my PSN backlog before I sell my soul to Diablo in a couple days :( |

Damn, turned out I was playing Deathly Hallows: Part I on Medium, I had hoped it was on Hard. That is what you get if you take too long between playing sessions. (7 months) Ironically the Medium trophy is rarer than the Hard trophy so I'm better. :D
Oh well, I'll just take a little break and pick it up again tomorrow or monday so I can add this game to my list of finished stuff. Finishing this game is my only remaining goal for May. |

Also, wrapped up Hot Pursuit platinum, had to grind out the last few ranks on cops. Playing through Chaos Theory in hopes of at least finishing it once this weekend. |

Are you using a save from before the patch?

I played the game back when it came out, but on a different PS3. This is under my own account, and I'd never played it on this playstation before today. No previous saves or anything.
What's especially irritating is the way the trophies jumped. I got the trophy for headshotting an enemy, but not the ones for 10 and 30. I didn't get ANY for the brawling stuff, but then the 20 one popped after a while. Treasures were the same. |

I haven't earned many trophies lately, as I've played MGS2, which I didn't even bother to try earning trophies in, I just wanted to enjoy the game, and I'm doing the same with Snake Eater. I also finished Half-Life 2:Ep. 1, which doesn't have trophies. Last month burned me out on trophies, and right now I just want to play games without worrying about the trophies. I'm sure I'll get back to hunting pretty soon though. |

Half-Blood Prince is fun though. And I switched it up with season 6 of Criminal Minds and season 1 of How I Met Your Mother so overall the weekend wasn't a loss. The advantage of The Deathly Hallows Part I is that you can practically skip all fights though so each playthrough was fast.

Like in MGS 2 you have to collect all of the dog tags which I believe takes multiple playthroughs and you have to do all of the VR missions and there's 1 for placing first in 50 of them. I tried getting 1st in the very first mission since I thought it would be easy but as soon as the guard I have to avoid passes me and I run to the finish, I always get 2nd place. There's also one for finishing the snake tales missions which are pretty tough. There's no radar and you usually have little to no supplies. As for MGS 3 I was able to get about 10 trophies within an hour of starting the game, but there's trophies for collecting all snakes, all birds, all frogs, all mushrooms and more that I don't remember (1 for each of those, not 1 total). There's also 1 for finishing the game without killing ANYONE, including all bosses. So like I said there's a solid mix of easy and ridiculous ones. I'm assuming the achievements are the same on 360 though. |

edit: Maybe those collection trophies in MGS3 aren't so bad after all. Since I wrote that last comment I got the fish and fruit trophies and I'm not even halfway done with the game. Must have been lucky I guess.

About to hit my small goal for the month of going from 4000-4500 gamerscore. Just playing through Prototype 2 and picking up achievements along the way. Loving this game TBH.
![]() Doubt I will hit 5000 this month as next on my list is Crysis2 PC. Might be able to set another goal of 4750 though as I will be playing Ghost Recon when it releases here on the 24th. Edit: my phone shows incorrect gamer card lol? Will correct if needed when back on pc.

MGS3 is piss easy. It can be done in one playthrough on any difficulty (including Very Easy) if you use a guide. It's a bit of a joke, though I nice refresher after the long MGS2 grind. As for the 360/PS3 differences, as far as I'm aware the 360 version still has the major trophies (all dogtags, all VR Missions, etc), it's just lacking a lot of the smaller ones (shoot 10 cameras, etc), so they're just as hard as the PS3 versions without being as rewarding. |

Hardest part is toward the end and having to shoot some easy to miss Kerotan frogs with a sniper rifle, but overall not bad at all. |

Right now, I'm working on MGS:Peace Walker, but it's such a time suck. Those Extra Ops of the four and five skull difficulty vehicle battles are tough for me, as I'm worthless in stealth and don't have too many powerful weapons. Still, it's a great game that I would love to Platinum one day. |

And yeah, ThingontheFloor's MGS3 advice is best, especially if you're playing it for the first time. As for sniping Kerotan frogs near the end of the game, make sure you use your directional mic to double check whether you got them. Hear the sound they give off and continue, don't and you need to reload your save |
