It was a timing issue. AR is almost done so it's getting released but Bayo 2 would likely be scheduled past the point where they really have to put stuff on the chopping block.

It was close to a month before we heard about Prey 2 and even that still has some cloudiness around it. I doubt we'll ever hear any confirmation if this is true since the game hasn't been announced.
